A VHS tape did something to my Emerson TV/VCR combo. It ejected the tape but now the TV shuts itself off after about 10 seconds. I've taken it to a repair shop before and they reset something but it costs me $80 everytime I have to take it in. What are they doing and can I do it at home (and save myself $80 a year which is how often it happens).

I have the same problem.

Yes you can fix it changing the charge motor belt of the vcr
