How do I figure out what model my cell phone is

According to Google, a 626 series.
Why do you have a phone and not know the model? Did you find it?

The model number can only be found by seeing the model number. It cannot be found any other way.

Usually Lane cedar chests have serial numbers that are stamped or applied to the bottom of the chests.
You can read the serial number BACKWARDS to determine the production date.
For example: serial number 753150 would have been produced on 05/13/57.
Some chests may also have an extra digit which denotes the plant location.
For example: serial number 2557121 would have been produced on 12/17/55 in plant #2.
If your model does not have a serial number we will be unable to provide you with a production date.

The IMEI number is unique the each mobile/cell phone. The number is printed on the label under the battery. You can also get the IMEI number by entering this on your phone *#06# It will then display your IMEI number and you may also get a unique global serial number. Your IMEI number should be 15 digits.

The serial number, model number, and regulatory number should be located on the nameplate inside the battery compartment.

if you mean to say IMEI number of your phone (considering serial number) then you can get it by just clicking *#06# on that phone & you will get an IMEI number

VX8500 does not have an ESN. The VX8500 has an MEID. The MEID is a 14 digit hexadecimal value with the following format:
The decimal representation is calculated as follows:

a). Separate the 14 digit hexadecimal MEID into two parts:
Part 1 – the first 8 digits representing the manufacturer code (digits RRXXXXXX in
the figure).
Part 2 – the last 6 digits representing the serial number. (digits ZZZZZZ in the figure).

b). Convert the hexadecimal value of each part into the decimal equivalent:
Part 1 – 10 decimal digits zero filled.
Part 2 – 8 decimal digits zero filled.
If the decimal equivalent of each part is less than the number of required digits, right align
and zero fill to create the required length.

c). Concatenate Part 1 and Part 2 to create an 18 digit decimal number.

Example:
Hex MEID = AF 01 23 45 0A BC DE
Part 1, manufacturer code is 0xAF012345 = 2936087365
Part 2, serial number is 0x0ABCDE = 00703710
Therefore, the decimal representation of the MEID is 29360 87365 0070 3710

If you call Sprint and ask to speak to tech support, they MIGHT be able to access it through the ## menu... not sure on this particular phone, it would be the "data" and "advanced"... the tech agent will know what im talking about
