You also need to change the paper type in printing preferences. You will find 4x6 and 4x6 with tab in th pull down menu where it says plain paper. Be sure to position the paper as far as it will go into the printer and close the paper controls to hold it there. Also fan it well before you put it in.
Do not mix photo paper in the feed with any other type paper. Also, when you attempt to print, specify what type of paper you will be using to print pictures. Plain paper usually prints with no problems.
I'm not clear on your problem but you can try this<a href="http://www.richardsnotes.org/archives/2006/05/17/canon-i9900-printer-problem-and-solution/" >Link for simular problems.</a> You may find the solution there.
Hi linnik Just replacing the plain paper with photo paper is not sufficient. You have to tell the printer you are using photo paper. For you have to select the print preferences /or properties or features (the wording will be different for different printers). Find where the option for various papers and select the photo paper. and do the correct submenu selection as well. After doing all these print. Hope this will solve your problem. luciana44
Make sure you are using the paper that come under the specifications of the printer (102 x 153 mm (4 x 6 inches) for a Photo Paper). Though you are using the correct paper and you are getting the same message, then just set the paper type as "Plain" and try to print from the photo paper. It works in most of the cases
