Question about Magellan RoadMate 700 GPS Receiver
Magellan is the worst piece of garbage and that goes for it's alleged customer service. DON'T bother upgrading maps...just throw the machine out cause I tried to update the maps and it erased all my gps maps and software, they made me send the machine back after they told me they would send me a replacement. So I had a working machine then I bought 79 dollar upgrade that made it inoperable, so now I get the privilege of paying for a "repair" of something THEY broke.
Don't e-mail them, call them only if you want to hear english with an indian accent and have about 3 hours to waste.
They have NO CUSTOMER service and that should fall under tooth fairy, Easter bunny, Santa Claus and any other fictional character.

I need to warn you. I HAD a RoadMate 700. It was having issues with the temperature sensor. Paid 149 to have it fixed. Had it insured and return receipt placed on the package so I know that it arrived. 2 weeks go by and no unit. I call and they say they meesed up on the RA number. Told 2 more weeks. Fine. 2 weeks go by and no unit so I call again. THey said their system is down so they can't tell where my unit is. (they all but stop short of telling me it is lost in the abyss that is known as the TExas repair facility) They call me a day after I call them wanting the routing number I had for my package to see if I was lying. I gave it to them and confirmed that the repair facility got it. The woman I spoke with then told me something that was almost unbelievable........ they have a new system and it is down and the repair facility has THOSANDS of units and they are not sure who belongs to what!!!!! INEXCUSABLE!!! But they offered me the MEastro 4050 for 280- the 149 I have already paid for the repair.
I would be VERY careful of sending it in because you may not ever see it again. Best bet is if you are going to buy another GPS (Bestbuy has a black friday sale of the Garmin 660 for 399) buy it from a big box compnay like Best buy and pay the extra for the waranty. IF ANything happens to yoru GPS then they will just give you another one and there is no dealign with the garbage that is known as the "customer service" of Magellan.

A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
