Question about RCA HD52W59 HDTV Projection Television

1 Answer

Language Selection Every time I turn on the TV it comes on to the blue language selection screen. I have tried all of the setup options and none work. It will go to the channel and I can here the sound but I have to select the language and hit clear or enter every time I turn on the TV. Also, when I use a timer, for when we are on vacation, it also comes on to this language selection screen when on the auto on mode is activated. JJS

Re: Language Selection

I had that happen. I found out that I had the VCR turned on. So I turned that off and The language select went away.

I was connected from satellite to VCR then TV.

Hi, I was wondering, after a power outage my tv is stuck on the language selection screen it is a panasonic television, any idea of how to bypass that? Thank you in advance.

Best bet is to unplug the set for 10 minutes and then plug it back in and turn it on. That should reset it or at least allow you to work your way through the menus.

I need to activate CC for my Dad, Please help I have to go to work. I have a flat screen SOYO

Determine if closed captioning is available on the program that you've selected. In your program guide, the letters "CC" should appear at the end of the description.
Locate the closed captioning option on your remote. Some remotes have a "CC" button that you simply need to push to activate closed captioning
Locate the closed captioning option in your television's menu if there is no "CC" button on your remote. To do this, push the "menu" button on the remote control. The closed captioning option will probably be in the same section as the language function.
Set the closed captioning option to "on." Within several seconds, you should see the text appear on your screen.
To use closed captioning for DVDs, look for the "CC" label on the lower back section of the DVD case where it lists audio information. Turn on your TV's closed captioning and you should see the captioning like you do on a television program. Alternately, some DVDs include English subtitles that you can turn on in the setup/language menu of the DVD.
Thank you.

Language problem

the language selection is in the menu on the remote.
there will be a point to where you can decipher it
if its in the wrong language.
else unplug for a couple of day and it will likely reset to factory defaults.
