You have to contact your telco for instructions if messages are held on their servers as they vary. If it is your own voice mail phone at home, you need to read the manual.

If you want to delete the actual voice mails, you have to go through your phone company (using their keypad commands) since voice mail is only accessible through your phone (but the voice mail messages are stored through your phone company provider).

Using the Voice Mail Service If you subscribe to a voice mail service, you can use your phone to access your voice mailbox. The new message LED on the handset ?ashes and VM appears in the handset display whenever you have messages waiting in yourvoice mailbox. When you subscribe to the service, your voice mail provider provides you with the access number and the required voice mail signaling tone. You can use your phonebook to store the access number.

Resetting the Voice Message Waiting Indicator

When you receive a new voice mail message, the new message LED on the top of the handset ?ashes and
appears in the handset display. In the event your message alert tone gets out of sync with your phone company's voice messaging system, you can reset back to its original "no messages waiting" state. To reset, press and hold [?nd hs] on the base for ?ve seconds. A beep sounds and the message alert tone is reset.

The VTech 6041 isn't an answering machine. If you subscribe to a voicemail system offered by your telephone company then the phone will let you access it. See the instructions on page 12 of the manual.
For instructions on setting up and accessing the voicemail system, you'll need to contact your telephone company.

To access your voice mail on your cell phone, this is what to do.

Press the number 1. It will connect you directly to the voice mail instructor. Next you have to simply follow the instructions.

This was a very painless process or you can even simply follow the manual given to you when you purchased your cell phone.

Usually you press and hold #1 and it will call your voice mail or dial your own phone number and press # or * during your voice mail msg

How do I access my voicemail?

I dialed my own phone number and that accessed my voice mail.

As bsmither said, how voice mail is accessed is very dependent on your phone company and how they've set things up. They would be the best place to ask about any problems you're having there.

As for programming the voice mail buttons on the 25204, I was confused by that one as well until I finally figured it out. Specializations aside, they're just speed dial buttons, and are programmed in exactly the same way as the ones along the right side of the phone. RCA could have documented that detail better than they did.

In my case, with Vonage, I just programmed the buttons with the numbers for the lines that they're associated with. When they dial and I'm connected to the voice mail system, I'm prompted for my VM password, which I then enter manually.
