What causes error code Hc? - Washing Machines

There isn't actually an "Hr" code, but there is this code for the high speed CAN network communication failure. If you've had your car worked on recently I would take it back to whoever worked on it last and have them check it out. This HC error code will appear at the end of the wash cycle to indicate that the hot and cold water inlet hoses are switched.
If the hoses are not switched it could indicate a problem with the Electronic Control Board.
You can try to rest the washer by unplugging or flipping the breaker to the washer for 2-5 min.

Restore power to the washer and try running a short cycle. This will help clear any irregularities that the control board may have encountered.

The water inlet hoses are probably removed and reconnected in reverse, and then trigger the HC error code to flash indicating the hot and cold water inlet hoses are reversed. Reconnect the water inlet hoses properly and start a cycle then let us know what happens next.

According to the Whirlpool "Cabrio" washer installation and maintenance manual, (Cabrio is the Sears Oasis) the HC code will come up when.

I recently started getting this message as well. I found out that I accidentally switched the hot and cold water lines into the washer. After switching so hot goes to hot and cold goes to cold the 'hc' message has stopped.

You need to switch over your hot and cold water lines. 'HC' means that your hot and cold are hooked up to the wrong inlets.
