Question about Whirlpool 24 in. Built-In Dishwasher w/ SheerClean Dishwasher
The top arm is not spinning on my dishwasher. I can manually spin it with no trouble. Water is coming out of the arm, it is just not spinning.
It looks like there is not enough water pressure to spin the spray arms. Loss of pressure may be due to various things, like damaged seal, cracked tubes, clogged filters, screens etc.
I suggest you take a look at the technician repair sheet that should be stored inside the front panel at the bottom of the door. Remove that panel under the door with screw driver. Inside, attached to the panel, you should find a troubleshooting guide and solution for technician. But it is easy to follow. Look at the section under "poor wash" and follow its recommendation. I had exact same problem - not enough water pressure. In my case, the chopper screen was clogged and the chopper assemply was broken. I followed the repair instruction above to remove the chopper assembly, cleaned the chopper screen and the washer now is as good as new. I will need to replace the chopper when the part arrives.

Tips for a great answer:
As you have already cleaned and checked the arm for any
clogs then please make sure that all holes are open. Use a sharp metal pin to
clean the holes on the top spray arm. Make sure the water pressure is not low. The
top arm spins freely. If not then check the bearings for the arm. Hope
this helps...please post back for further assistance.

Please check if something is blocked near the top spray arm, also make sure that all holes are open. Use a sharp metal pin to clean the holes on the top spray arm. Make sure the water pressure is not low.
under the screen and you'll need a Torx screwdriver to get to it after you remove the spray arm and screen. Check to see that the path it travels is clear. I have seen these get blocked up by stuff.
Now check if the top arm spins freely and check the bearings for the arm, if they are producing extra friction while the spray arm spins. Hope this helps... Please post back if you need more assistance.
