Car won't start after oil change jaguar S type

Car won't start after oil change .My brother and I changed the oil on his S type jaguar he just bought. when we were done it wouldn't start. I asked him what did he do. he said he drained the oil from the filter because he couldn't find the drain plug so we put the new filter on and replaced the oil that drained. The car is trying to start but won't turn over. Any suggestions?

OK. I have more info. before I arrived at his house he tried to start the car with filter off to help drain the oil. I told him to take to the dealer or a shop but he thought he could do it. Has this damaged the engine even though it never turned over?

Sounds like overfill oil pressure too high. Oil level is critical. Engine can be damaged.

I did oil filter change on jaguar S-type and now car is cranking but not starting...its got plenty of battery power...ok so i jacked up car from one side using Jack in the trunk then I saw the oil filter underneath and removed it...some oil came out then I replaced with new one and that's it... i couldn't find drain plug so I just lowered car back down....ok then I just added half bottle oil to top it off.. after that the car cranks and cranks like the gas is empty...doesn't want to start...no spitting no nothing....Ok then I checked all the related fuses like F.I.& Fuel pump in all places....Under hood... in trunk...passenger side but all fuses are good... OK then I pushed that button in multiple times, the one on driver's side called inertia switch..but it's all right....ok everybody what's left for me to do is to go back over my steps and see if I missed something...so I'm gonna Jack up the car again and check it out......
After topping up with oil. My S-Type won't start
After topping up with oil. my jaguar S-type cranking but no start....all i did was jack up my jaguar then crawling underneath...was able to remove old oil filter then some old oil leaked out. then replaced with new Purolater oil filter....did not touch the oil drain plug...afterwards lower car back down then finally topped up with almost half quart synthetic blend 10W-30 oil....Now Car is cranking n cranking but won't start up n run....
Absolutely mysterious.....??
UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE............So update is that when I had initially topped up the motor oil in my S-Type few days ago my mistake was i had overfilled it....and that's why it was acting this way.......thank you everybody for your patience and have a BLESSED DAY!! ??

SOURCE: 2000 JAGUAR S-TYPE. CLEAR/CLEAN WATER, NO SMELLS

Your drain hose is under towards the bottom of the car, up against the firewall. You may be able to blow it out from the cowl. You may just have to do a fresh air service which is a special foam that kills the bacteria and such that builds on the evaporator from it sitting.

SOURCE: 2007 jaguar x-type, i need to drain out the fuel,

you can't just drain it. would have to siphon it out or drop the tank.

2000 Jaguar xj8 turn over won't start stability control fail light on.

the stab light comes on if the battery is low because you are cranking the engine your aj26 v8 engine may have a common problem for cars up to that model/year with worn nicosil coated bores ie. low compression check the vin no. at your jag dealer you can get it started by removing the spark plugs and putting a egg cup of engine oil in to each of the cylinders the first thing to do is to check for fault codes using a obd code reader for a clue followed by a compression test

HOW TO CHANGE MY OIL ON MY 2002 JAGUAR S-TYPE

I assume its a 3.0l? Just like any other car. Pull the drain plug on bottom of oil pan. Change the oil filter on bottom driver side (3600 series filters). It will take 7 quarts.

Changing oil in jaguar 2002 s type? Where is the oil filter?

jag-you-are would prefer that you take your car to one of their service centers!! probably has an internal filter element that needs special equip. to access and change out.lot of high end cars have that type of filter now. my brothers mercedes mid-1990s doesn't even have a tranny dip-stick! need special tools to check level! hard to be a 'shade-tree' mechanic anymore!
good luck!

When can I find instructions for changing the oil on my 2004 XJR?

Type in Jaguar service oil change on your brozer and as soon as you read two blogs that read the same or close enough, then get busy . Only the turbo cars have special directions. Starting off with a warm just shut off car, complete the work and restart the car right away is always good don't take your time as the oil can drain out of the bearings and then the oil oil pushing air though the system to the dry bearing equalls a dry start that can hurt any motor. As for getting the last little bit out, that little that stays in will mix with the new and be just as good if you are changing after a blown engine repair or other contanmination changing the oil more thean once is better than trying to get it all out and risk a dry start

Oil change for jaguar

That depends on the type of oil you use. You have more than one option for this car , you can go with Semi Sentetic / Castrol and replace from 8000 KM - 10000 KM or you can go with full sentetic that will give you from 20000 KM - 25000 KM.
