First you hold the big X button in the middle to turn the controller on.
Next, after making sure your 360 is turned on, push the connect button
on the 360 controller so the lights around the big X are spinning
around. Finally, push the connect button on the 360( which is located
directly to the right of memory unit B) and the lights around the on/off
button of the console should spin. Eventually, your console will find
the controller, and you will know its connected because one single light
on the controller will remain lit while the others wont.
It's possible the xbox 360 controller isn't connected to the xbox 360. Turn the xbox 360 on by pressing the power button, and wait until it reaches the dash board. Then press the controller syncing button on the xbox 360 itself and wait until the xbox 360's ring lights start to spin around. Then press and hold the synch button on the controller (located near the charge port) and the controller should synch up with the xbox 360.
That is a syncing Issue, Try this, it may take a few tries. Press the Sync button on the Xbox 360. Then press and Hold the sync button on you Guitar for 1 Second. The Xbox and Guitar Should Sync.
Bring the game back to where ever you may have made the purchase, there reason could be a possible faulty disk, the main thing to ask yourself is....Are you able to play another game? if so, does this issue occur? If yes, then there is a HIGH change it is your remote, however...if not, then it is the disk, for GTA4, Let me know how it goes, Thanks, Justin. Please Rate Me
i had this same problem, so i figured, "what the hell?" i might as well open the dvd drive up and clean it out. so i looked for how to video for taking apart my 360 and opening the dvd drive on you tube( this voids your warantee of course) and i cleaned all the dust out with compressed air and swabs dipped in alchohol. this worked for me so i hope it works for you.
Have you tried a different A/V cable? If you have and still get the same problem it is a 90% chance it is the scaler chip. You can try to fix it yourself but unless you are EXTREMELY good at electronic soldering I would not recommend you try to fix it yourself. If it is still under warranty send it back to xbox and they will change it for you with a new scaler chip that has a heatsink built onto it. If you are out of warranty and can not do it yourself I would take it to a game store and they usually can fix it for you for probably around 70-80 dollars (I would not pay more than that because it is about a 30-40 minute job).
