I am able to play mp4s with attributes AP. I noticed this in the properties/details window. The videos I can not play have only attribute A. I have converted them from AVI/WMV and even converted a RAR file. I am not real computer savvy but I can figure out most problems. I have checked network settings, file sharing options, and permissions, the only thing I can figure is something is not converting correctly. I am using Freemake video converter. Thanks in advance.
SOURCE: converting an avi file to a dvd format
You can use a program like CloneDVD to convert from an avi to a DVD format. Then after you do that you can use the same program and tell it to burn that dvd format to a regular dvd. Keep in mind that to convert files can take a few hours so keep this in mind if your doing something big like a movie. Make sure you have a dvd-rw in your computer to otherwise you can't burn to a regular DVD.
SOURCE: connecting PC to TV
Most tv's are not compatible in this matter. They were made to be a tv, and not a computer monitor. Some of the newer tv's are compatible. If they have a vga port then they are compatible, but may not support or have the resolution expected. The vga to s-video cables were designed mainly for the use of the newer computers with vga ports to older flat panel monitors with s-video ports, at the time that vga was first coming out. This cable is on the verge of obsolete. So, I don't believe that you're going to be able to hook the two together, and get the outcome you want.
