SOURCE: Rival CFZ530 Deep fryer

I had this same problem which is how I came across your post, and I found on the Rival website ( www.rivalproducts.com ) you can email the company and tell them the model number and they will email you the manual, and if you're like me and hate to wait that long, you can call their customer service number and tell them what you need and they will email you the manual in about an hour. The number the website gave me was  1-800-323-9519, and I also realized there was also a number on the box too.

You can not remove the reservoir because if you clean it out with a hot soapy spange or rag. turn the frier over and remove the plate you will see why the reservoir wont come out.

Try ebay, as there always replacements part for just about anything, keep an eye out for one. They also have a posting site called "want it now". Just ask for what you want, and when someone has it, they can contact you! Good Luck!

SOURCE: How to test thermopile on Imperial IFS-40 deep fryer

Hi there.
You will be needing a dc voltmeter set at millivolt to test a thermopile.
measure the voltage across the termials of the thermopile when it is heated by the pilot flame, you should have 600 to 750 millivolt reading.
If the reading is less than 600, try cleaning it with non metal scrubbing pad and/ or try increaing the pilot flame or you have to replace it with a new one.
Try the same with your other fryers with thermopile.
You will be able to find parts at http://www.imperialrange.com
Regards.

Where is thermopile located?

Hi there.
The thermopile is the cylindrical shape piece of metal standing behind the pilot assembly. The pilot assembly is the one that we light up with igniter or lighter during the fryer start up .

Trying to light the pilot light on deep fryer when i push button in it lights but when i let go of button pilot light goes out what am i doing wrong

If the pilot flame does not hold after releasing the button for at least 20 to 30 seconds, try to clean the thermopile and tighten all wiring connection on gas valve, thermostat and hi limit the repeat the process. The thermopile must be heated by pilot flame in order for it to generate small amount of voltage to open the pilot valve.
If this does not correct the problem, try replacing the thermopile.

My fryer model SRTG LIGHT THE PILOT BUT WON'T LIGHT THE MAIN BURNER

check if the thermopile (cylindrical metal standing behind pilot assembly) receives enough heat from pilot flame. if it does, you need to replace the thermopile.

Fryer will not fire

The coil in the valve is barely being held closed. Most of the time, 90%+, the thermocoupler (or thermopile) is bad.

You can clean and check the connections, and test it again. Otherwise, spend $20, and replace the thermocoupler. (thermopiles $50) Reason is, a gas valve will likely cost $250 or more. Good luck - Mike

Pitco fryer pilot out

if you changed the thermopile and still have the same problem make sure that the sensing bulb is directly over the flame. If it is and the thermopile is installed correctly the next thing would be the gas valve.

Hope this helps

ON GOING

Some one needs to take a millivolt reading on the thermopile. There are different types. But I believe on your type of fryer, the thermopile should put out at least 300 mV. Your gas valve is probably designed to work from 250mV to 750mV. You need a meter to get to the bottom.

In your case, I expect a new thermopile is able to make a bad gas valve look good. A new thermopile mV output is most always higher than an old one.

Thermopile

The thermopile for the 35cd,35cs,pit40sn,sg185 are the same thermopile the part number is P5047541. The only other thermopile in use for pitco products is the one for the solstice series it is part number 60125501
