Re: Blue Ghost

You need new convergence ICs . They cost about 10.00 each you will need two. They are located on a large aluminum heat sink with an STK number stamped on them. They will have to be soldered in. If you can solder you will be able to do this repair yourself. Let me know if you need ay additional Info.

How old is ur tv...? Cos the wear & tear is the cause for this ghost appearance. The repair for this is only temporarily. It can not be eliminated completely.

Generally the blue ad yellow colour can be removed by a tool which is available with a tv technician. It is not very expensive to do this. Hoping to hear from you.

Severe Ghost.

Mitsubishi has been known for having bad solder connections on their Convergence ICs from the factory. If you are tech savy, and don't mind doing some soldering, follow these instructions:

Unplug set, remove the back cover, find the convergence board (should be labeled, if not it is the long narrow board usually on top or side), find the convergence ICs on the heatsinks and resolder all the pins and ground. This should fix your problem.

Color is off

Center the controls as best you can, disregarding the pix for the moment. Then, do a mechanical setup, getting the alignment as close as you can. Now, perform the electrical setup and see what you get. If you can't get it any closer, you'll have to address the convergence probem that we suspected you have...accordianman
