Depending upon the copier, with some of these, you can press a button and it displays where the jam has occurred. As annoying as knowing that happens to be, here is the repair manual. Starting on page 11-75, there is in intricate detail, step by step procedures for clearing the jam, apparently depending upon the location of the jam. One instantly feels like one has fallen down the rabbit hole. It does take concentration and the un-crossing of eyes to wade through the steps. On the Canon site, there is a reference to cleaning it of a static charge if there is a repeated pattern of jams. In any printer, you un-jam paper by spending far more time than is reasonable in fiddling teeny weeny off-cuts which might be cluttering up the mechanism, or by refreshing the ink or both...

Paper jams can occur for the following

reasons.

???? Paper curl

???? Incorrect paper setting in the paper

There are several possibilities. After you inspect for the Jam and close the drawer, does the copier come to ready? Have you checked the behind the doors on the right side. If the copier comes to ready and you press the start button does the copier jam right away. If so check the dial on the paper drawer and be sure its set to the right size paper. If its not the copier will jam, right away. It is important with a Canon to check all areas and open both the paper drawer and the right side doors when checking for jam, if the right sequence is not followed in checking for jams the jam may not clear. If still Jammed you might take some canned air open the right side door and blow out the paper feed area, a sensor may be blocked or dusty. If all else fails turn the machine off and un-plug it from the wall, let it set a few minutes and plug it in and try it again.

Carraige rod is the rod that holds the cartridges and moves while printing on the paper and spreads ink on the paper and if this rod is jammed it is known as carraige jam.
Please follow the below steps.

If still the issue persists, please follow the below steps.
STEP 1.
1. Un plug the power chord from the back of the printer.
2. Press and hold the power button of the printer.Wait for 30 seconds.
3. While holding the power button, re-plug the power cable.
4. Turn on the printer, if it is not on.

STEP 2.
Reset the All-in-One to the factory default settings by using these instructions:

1. Unplug the power cable from printer when the printer is powered on.

2. Press and hold OK and HELP buttons while plugging in the power cord.

open your bobbin case and un jam it thread wound around the center
