You did not give the Year. The spark plug gap for Year 1998 to 2006 is 0.043 inch for Platinum Plugs. For Nissan use only NGK spark plugs. American or German Brand plugs will not perform well or last long on a Japanese Car. If you buy new Spark plugs from Auto parts store depending on Which Type you buy ie: Platinum, Double Platinum or Iridium they come pre gapped for your car.

It should be .045". depending on the year there maybe a sticker/decal under the hood that says what the plug gap is.

SOURCE: engine is misfiring. 2.5L 2003

one of the small screws that secure the plates to the shaft of the swirl control system inside of intake manifold mostlikely fell out and wound up in the cylinder of the damged plug causing the damage to the plug.there was a recall by nissan to remedy this by replacing screw with threadlocker.contact your local dealer for info.

How do I change spark plugs and cables on my 05 Nissan sentra 1.8 special edition??and what else do I need besides the plugs ? Please write back at mailto:[email protected]

Hello,
I am carsandcomps from Fixya.com. My name is Brandon. In order to replace your spark plug wires and spark plugs (best to do both) - do one at a time. Start from one side of the engine (ex: drive front/back) depending on your engine position; doesn't really matter, just start at one side.
1. Remove plug wire from plug (make sure new plug is gapped; auto parts dealer can give you this, and sell you a spark plug gap tool for cheap) 2. Follow the spark plug wire (existing one) to it's place on the distributor (if equipped) or coil pack (if equipped). 3. Pull the wire off from the distributor cap (or coil pack if equipped); insert new (gapped) spark plug, and put the new plug wire on.
Do this step for each one, as it ensures each one is placed properly and your engine will run as needed when finished. Also make sure they "click" when pushing them onto the plugs and distributor cap (coil pack) whichever is present.

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Open then hood while it's idling and listen for a hissing noise. Sounds like you have a bad vacuum leak. Hopefully a vacuum hose came loose and you can plug it back in

Nissan B13 sentra isn't starting.

All engines need 3 components: fuel, spark, and oxygen.
You'll need to check all 3 of these. start by checking your spark plugs to see if they aren't gapped or melted. Then check to make sure that fuel is reaching the engine. make sure that the fuel filter isn't clogged.
If you have the tools, run a vacuum pressure test on the lines.

you hit the nail on the head ,cold and silicone chips ,they do not like the cold weather they can be temperamental to say the least ,as for finding the faulty component you will need an identical car that works ok ,then when yours will not start try swopping bits till you hit the one causing the problem.or sell it for a nice manual diesel version,

Saprk plug gauge

On the radiator support, there should be a sticker with the correct gap listed.
Call autozone or any parts store, and they will have the correct gap for you.

.044 should be it.
