The burners are not one the the gas starter is clicking what do I do?
We just had a similar problem with our cooktop (model JGP337). Some water had got into the control knob and the ignitor kept clicking. We used a hair dryer for about 10 minutes and the clicking stopped. Thanks.
To GEuser: Thanks for the hair dryer suggestion! I had the same problem with our GE JGP330 gas cooktop. Fixya saved me another $150 . I did the following before I tried the hair dryer suggestion. 1. I scrubbed all of the four igniters with a solution of scouring powder. 2. I brought in my 6HP wet/dry vacuum from the garage and first sucked on each burner control opening after removing the knobs and soft plastic ring to suck up any water or liquid that fell in. 3. I then reversed the hose on vacuum and blew into each opening to dislodge any particles that could have been bridging the wire to or from the sparking module, None of these stopped the intermittent sparking, in fact blowing into the control openings made the sparking louder and more consistent. 5. looking into the 4 openings I saw a small label that was lying on one of the control switch wires, and carefully removed it with a long skinny needle-nose pliers, and carefully repositioned the wires around each control unit, thinking that maybe the insulation around the wires had cracked, was causing the sparking: Result: still sparking. 5. Out came the hair dryer, I blew hot air down each opening for about 2-3 minutes, and .... success! no more sparking. After doing all this, my wife said she spilled pretty thick soup this afternoon on the control knobs as she was picking up the soup pot.

I recently cleaned the unit and decided that water must have gotten into the open tube. I used a hair dryer for about 7 to 10 minutes and the clicking stopped and the burner works!
If you have recently cleaned unit and got moisture behind knobs, this may stop when the spark switches dry out. If not you will need to replace spark switches behind the knobs.

The spark of mine kept clicking and making sparks right after my wife cleaned the cook top. After disconnect and plug the power back in again, the loud spark clicking sound stop but instead we get this background clicking sound from the apparently the control box. Should I replace the control box?
My wife cleaned the gas top and the starter keeps clicking like its trying to light the burner. What is the solution to remedy the problem?
