Do you figure out a way to fix this problem? I'm wondering because mine started doing this today. All I can do is open and close the the tray and if I hold the power bottom for a few seconds it will turn off. Thank you. Amanda
Look at the setting for "fully closed". it sounds like yours is set for slightly than the actual opening....So, the door reaches that location, and it thinks it hit an obstruction, which causes the door to open....While you are there, reset the sensitivity settings.
What I would do is back off the closed position setting so that the door stops an inch or two off of the ground, then adjust until the door is in the correct closed position...
You are correct on the "eyes" (infrared sensors) being lined up, if they were not, the door would not close at all.
Your safety
reversing sensors must be connected and aligned correctly before the
garage door opener will close. An obstruction in the path of the
sensor will also cause your door to not close.
This sensor is an electronic
beam, which is sent between two sending and receiving "eyes".
These eyes face each other and are located just inside your garage
door. They may need to be adjusted so the beam from the sending eye
is properly detected by the receiving eye. Once the receiving eye
"sees" the beam from the sending eye, a green indicator light
will glow on the top of the eye. Tweak them a bit. If both lights do not come on you have bad sensors.
I can tell you this if you find the switch that is on Amanda back this turns her on. You must be in a quiet room. You have to touch her one of her hands to make her speak. The right one should do the trick. This link has a lady talking about the doll and going through instructions setting up the doll. It seems like a pretty cool doll. http://www.archive.org/download/LarrySkutchanbct266AmazingAmandaDemo/bct266AmazingAmandaDemo.mp3
