Yes there always is a main fuse but it depends actually on what exactly are you talking about.

The Power to unit went out while it was on. It will not power up again. I'm wondering if we blew a fuse. I can not find any advice on where to begin on finding/checking fuse in a Sony Receiver STR-DN2010

JCB 8014 mini digger - Where is main fuse?

The main fuse on the JCB 8014 mini digger is typically located near the battery or the starter motor. Here are some steps you can take to locate the main fuse:
  1. Locate the battery: The main fuse is usually located near the battery or the starter motor. Locate the battery and follow the cables that are connected to it.
  2. Follow the cables: Trace the cables that are connected to the battery and look for a fuse holder along the way. The fuse holder should be a small plastic box with a lid that can be opened.
  3. Check the manual: If you have the owner's manual for the JCB 8014 mini digger, check the fuse diagrams to see where the main fuse is located.
  4. Check the fuse box: The main fuse may be located in the fuse box under the hood or in the cab. Check the fuse box for a large fuse that is rated at 60 amps.
  5. Consult a technician: If you are unable to locate the main fuse, it is best to consult a qualified technician who can help you locate and replace the fuse.
Once you have located the main fuse, check it for signs of damage or burn marks. If the fuse is blown, replace it with a new one of the same amperage rating. If the fuse is not the issue, there may be a problem with the wiring or the electrical components of the mini digger, which may require further diagnosis and repair by a qualified technician.

I have examined my fuses in my 2002 kia rio to find the main fuse basically melted. How can I replace this fuse properly? What is the purpose of this main fuse?(Aside from, "you need it to run our...

  • The main fuse protects the other fuses and relays from a bad surge. Like hooking up jumper cable backwards or something major like that where if that main fuse was not there you could do a lot of damage to things that would cost a lot and take a lot of time to repair.
  • To replace this one I think it is two screw on the big 80Amp fuse inside the box and pull the bad fuse out and set a new one in it's place (either way is fine) and put the screws back in. That's it really. Nothing special to it. On GM's they use a couple big bolts to hold in the Main Fuse on the side of the Under The Hood Fuse Panel.

  • Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa.

Unit is showing no signs of power. Mains fuse has been checked and replaced.

If your appliance has absolutely no functions at all, remove it from the mains supply, remove the case and see where the mains lead goes in to the appliance and follow the cable until you find the main fuse.
ONLY USE THE SAME TYPE AND RATING OF FUSE TO REPLACE IT.
The usual cause of this fuse failure is the door switches are contaminated or sticking. Check the door switches before putting power back on to the appliance.
Hope this helps.

I believe you have a ground short in the main fuse wiring or at the main fuse location itself. Try locating it and as the suggested Tech from Firestone advised , replace the main fuse. frank

Circuit Braker
A bimetal circuit breaker is located in the joint box, which is just above the interior fuse panel. This circuit breaker protects the rear window defrost circuit and is the plug-in type.

Fuses
The main fuse block is located inside the left side of the engine compartment near the battery. There is also an interior fuse panel located just above the left side kick panel.

Fuses Replacement

CAUTION Never replace a blown fuse with one of a higher rating. Severe damage to the vehicle, electrical harness and components, as well as personal injury or even death could occur.
Main Fuse Block
(see Figure 1)
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

The interior fuses simply unplug from the fuse panel. Use the fuse puller tool provided with your car to remove fuses from the panel. The tool is located on the back of the interior fuse panel cover.

Relay
The main relay box is located on the upper left-hand side of the firewall (bulkhead). There is also a relay box mounted inside the vehicle under the left side of the instrument panel.

Relay Replacement
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. If replacing a relay at the main relay box, disconnect the electrical connector and slide the relay from its mounting bracket.
  3. If replacing a relay at the interior relay box, simply unplug the relay.
  4. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.

Emerson Microwave (mw8992rd) not heating up

I have replaced the main fuse on this model. Though blown main fuses are common in this model, it will not even turn on when they blow, so your problem is most likely NOT a blown fuse. I had heard of your problem so, when replacing the main fuse inside one, I looked for additional fuses and saw none. The store was wrong. Even if it were a fuse, the security Torx screws mean that you couldn't replace the fuse anyway.

This microwave seems to have been haphazarly been recommended by Consumer Reports, but it is terribly unreliable. The turntables break when popping popcorn, the main fuse repeatedly blows, and they also stop heating.
