That TV will longer work with any Antenna by itself..the reason is a few years back the government mandated all TV signals will be HD. they sent out HD receiver boxes to allow old non HD TV's receive HD signals...I have a TV in my camper with the receiver Works great...Just see if you can locate one..there were thousands sent out..so they are out there Try Ebay..good luck.

Will mounting sdv8622t/27 antenna higher improve reception.also if the booster stays dry is it ok to mount outdoors

Hello,

yes, mounting the sdv8622t/27 antenna higher will improve its reception. The more the antenna goes up, the better the reception it receives. There won't be any interruptions if the sdv8622t/27 antenna goes higher. So, it is better if you mount the antenna higher as you intend.

As for the booster, it is not okay for the booster to stay outdoors. The booster should remain indoor, while the antenna stays outdoor.

I believe this is clear to you now. If you still have any more questions about your sdv8622t/27 antenna, please let me know as I would be please to respond to you.

Yours sincerely.

Local TV channels drop out after a few minutes

We're still hanging on by our toenails waiting for a helpful response from FixYa. We did contact Philips tech support and they basically said that we need a new TV...so they're sending one to replace this one, and we are sending back the "old" one (that we just bought in December '08).

Is the tv that I have bought about 6 years ago ready for DTV?

6 year old tv probably not digital ready. The converter box will work if tv is on channel 3 and you use a UHF antenna. Most converter box connections have 75 ohm connectors, your tv may have the round connector to accept the input signal. If you have screw on terminals on the tv you will have to go to Home Depot or Lowes and get a matching transformer to go between the tv and the converter box. UHF antenna can be made out of a coat hanger. Just make a circle clean the paint off ends and attach. Or just buy a digital booster antenna at WalMart.

Universal Remote not working

With nearly all brands of universal remote control, there is usually more than one code for Philips. Keep going through the codes until you find one that works correctly.

So if you know that the 1st code doesn't work, then don't save it, and move to the next.

You may find that several codes will actually put the TV into standby, but other functions will be different.
