How to change belt on Hotpoint CTD00P Tumble dryer

There should be a belt tenstioner and small pulley that is spring loaded if there is not a belt on it the pulley is in the bottom of the dryer. You have to place the tenstioner back in a slot or holder and then the pulley will keep the belt in place.

Need instructions on how to replace the belt on my Kenmore dryer

ALWAYS UNPLUG YOUR DRYER BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO DO ANY WORK ON IT.
If you have to check/replace your drum belt and if you have a front loading machine.
Remove the electrical console that holds the timer switch, start switch, etc. from the top of the dryer. Be real careful not to knock any of the wires off of the timer switch or other connections.
Note: Some lids hinge and can be tilted backward and not have to be removed.
Remove the lint filter screws and filter.
Then remove the top of the dryer.
Note: Some of the tops tilt backwards and do not have to be removed completly.
Remove the front of the machine, this will expose the belt and drum, remove the drum and belt and this will expose the drum rollers, idler arm bracket with pulley, and motor with pulley. Pay attention to the route of the belt, this will come in handy when you go to reinstall the belt and drum.
Sometimes the belt will slip off of the idler arm or motor causing the drum not to turn.
While you have the drum out, I would recommend that you lubricate the drum rollers at the shaft of the roller with a good grade of machine oil like 3 in One oil. This will save you a problem later with the rollers getting noisy, also check your drum rollers for flat spots, if they have flat spots on them this will cause a noise like a thumping type noise. You will need to replace the drum rollers if they have flat spots on them.

I have a Kenmore Dryer whick squeals, especially upon startup. I have the parts kit 4392065 from a neighbor who had the same problem with his dryer, but I have no instructions or schematics. I am looking...

remove 2 screws at filter. use a screw driver and pop hood from front. remove 2 screws at top front on inside and remove front of dryer. roller wheels are easy to repalce. place belt around drum. idler pully fits in slot just beloew moter pully. check its position while you have drum out, that way you know where it goes or you can actually put it in tis place bfore installing drum. helpful hint, after putting drum in place, reach your hand back to the right side roller wheel and pull it slightly forward. last put the belt on the idler pulley. go over the top of the pulley from right to left and then under and around motor pulley. it will only go on one way , the other will be obviously wrong. good luck.

Belt broken on LEC8858Eq0 need instructions on how to replace belt and pulley.

To open the dryer, remove screws under the lint filter door/ handle. Pull top towards you and lift on front, top should pop up and rotate back. There will be two sheet metal screws one on either side of the front door panel, remove them and pull front out and clear of the drum, an extra hand can really help with this. Lift on t he door panel and either disconnect the door switch connector or just turn it out of the way. Look under the drum, if the idler pulley does not have a roller on it, you should replace it. If it does have a roller, check for signs of wear and seizing, only then should that one be replaced. While you're in there it is always a good idea to clean out the lint and check the drum rollers. When putting back together, the drum may cause a problem seating on the front door seal. you may need to rotate the drum back and forth to work it into position.

CHANGING A BELT

I'm looking at the same problem with my Kenmore. You access from the front on mine. I had two screws under my pull out lint filter that I had to remove then pry up the top, stiff putty knife might be needed. Mine just pull up. Then I had one screw on top left inside front cover and once that was off the door can be lifted slightly on the left side then swung open. Use a bungee cord or someone to hold the tumble barrel up. You should be able to see everything from floor level.
