I assume you've tried removing and re-seating the batteries in the remote. If this doesn't reset the remote the fall most likely broke a component or solder point on the circuit board. If all else fails you can try opening the remote and making sure no wires are broken. Look closely around the battery contact points. Often when a remote is dropped the weight of the battery can cause damage to that area.

Is it possible to just get a new remote and not the whole kit?

You can certainly try putting it back together to see if it works.
If it is not fixable, you should be able to purchase just the transmitter to your fireplace remote control.

Please reply with your remote control's model # (typically found on the back) and I can help you find the appropriate transmitter.

Cant start gas fireplace

  • Find the remote's receiver under the fireplace.
  • There should be a switch to change from "remote" to "ON".
  • Turn the switch to "ON", if the fireplace ignites, you may need to re synchronize your remote. If it does not, your remote control may be bad.
  • Bypass the remote to ensure your fireplace is operational by connecting the "TH" and "TP/TH" terminals on the valve with a wire or paperclip. If the fireplace lights up fine, then it is for sure a bad remote.

I just replaced the batteries in the remote control for my Ambient fireplace and now the remote is not working

You didn't mention how many batteries you replaced. If it was only the 3 (AAA) in the hand held remote, you have 4 (AA) to go in the remote's receiver. It's the black box, inside the fireplace.

Depending on how long the batteries have been dead, the remote may have lost it's privacy/frequency code. In which case, it can be reset.

here is a link to your Owners Manual in case you have misplaced yours. You can download and print it, if you like. It will walk you through how to reset the privacy/frequency code. It has a Trouble Shooting Guide, that can prove invaluable.

Also, make sure the pilot on your gas logs or fireplace is burning and the Control Valve Knob is turned to the ON position. If it isn't, the remote control will not work

Hope this helps solve your problem.
