That usually indicates either something has become lodged in the fan or more often, they fan bearings are going out and you need to replace the fan soon. Make sure nothing is trapped in the fan first, if not, then you'll need to get a replacement as soon as possible. If the fan goes out while the PC is on and you're not aware or not around it can overheat and ruin your CPU.

SOURCE: cooling fan makes loud noise

Open the side panel of the computer. The inside of your eMachine must be like this:
309c9ae.jpg
The only fans in the case are the one inside the power supply and the one over the cpu heatsink. Take a look for something like cable or tire-up to come too close at the cpu fan. In this case take away this cable or tire-up and keep it in a safe distance. Try the results. If the problem is still active try this tip very carefully. Use a drinking straw as brake for the cpu fan. Hear the difference in noise. If the noise is dissapeared your cpu blower needs replacement. KEEP IN MIND THAT YOU MUST NOT RUN THE PC WITHOUT CPU FAN FOR MORE THAN 5 SECONDS. OTHERWISE YOUR CPU WILL BURNED.

In case of a problem or clarification, don't hesitate to post me a reply before rejecting my answer.

OUR XEROX COPY MACHINE MAKES A SQUEALING NOISE WHEN MAKING COPIES

On this model most squeeling noises come from the fuser assembly.
If it is that loud replace the fuser assembly.
Other known prolbems is with the fuser fan in the back.
To see if it is the fuser fan, take off the back cover.
When the machine makes a copy unplug the fan very momentary. See if the noise goes away.
If the noise is still there, then it is possible the fuser is causing the problem.
Make sure the correct fuser is installled on this machine model.

My computer makes a loud noise in the fan

The drive door issue may indicate a virus infection. As to the fan, you would have it replaced. If not under warranty open the case and track which fan the noise is coming from
