My printer is not recognising the replacement ink cartridge although I've used these before many times

If you have just installed a new cartridge and you still see an ink related error, the cartridge may be incorrectly installed. Follow these steps to make sure the cartridges are correctly installed:

  1. Make sure the Epson Stylus is turned on.

  2. Do one of the following:

    • If your printer indicates that an ink cartridge is expended, press OK.

    • If your printer does not indicate that any ink cartridge is expended, press Setup, select Maintenace, and press OK. Then select Change Ink Cartridge and press OK.
  3. Open the scanner.

  4. Open the cartridge cover.

    Caution:

Never attempt to open the cartridge cover while the print head is moving; wait until the cartridges have moved to the replacement position.

To avoid damaging the Epson Stylus, never move the print head by hand.

  5. Press down all the ink cartridges until they click into place to make sure they are properly seated.

    Note:

If a cartridge is properly seated already, you may not hear a click.

  6. Close the cartridge cover and press it until it clicks into place.

  7. Close the scanner.

  8. Press OK to begin charging the ink. This takes about 2 minutes.

You see a message on the display screen when ink charging is finished.

    Caution:

Never turn off the Epson Stylus while the ink is charging or you'll waste ink.
If the issue persists, it appears to be an issue with the cartridge(s). Contact Epson for further assistance.

Ink cartridges keep popping out when i close the printer door

The cartridges are not seating all the way - are you sure all the tape has been removed from the cartridge? Also, use a flashlight and look on the ink cartridge carriage - make sure there's no paper of tape sitting on it that would keep the ink catridges from seating properly. The ink cartridges should go in and you should feel them click into place.

Our HP 6510 printer indicates that the head alignment is incorrect..and it won't print anything black..yes, we just replaced the ink! What can we do?

This may indicate one of the cartridges is not correctly seated, try checking that the ink cartridges are correctly seated and it may be a good idea to use original ink rather than third party (not that i am saying you are using none HP ink) and also when placing ink in printer that you have not handled the chip on the cartridge itself.

Why is a light flashing for color ink cartridge?

Usually that means you are out of ink for one of your color cartridges. If you just replaced your color cartridges with fresh ink then it could be that one of the cartridges isn't seated properly. You might want to open it up and check it out and re-seat your color cartridges.

I refilled my cartridge for x2650, its full, but doesn't print I refilled my cartridge with ink myself that i bought from Argos, now it is full of ink, but still shows the message that i must replace...

Please note that Lexmark does not recommend the use of refilled cartridges. Refilled cartridges tend to degrade in print quality and performance.
You may try to re-seat the cartridge and make sure it's properly seated in the cartridge carrier. Also note that once a cartridge is refilled, it can no longer register its ink level.

I just put in a brand new black ink cartridge. The alignment page doesn't show the black ink and the printer kept saying alignment error

It could be that one of the cartridges is not seated properly in the cartridge carrier. Try to re-seat the cartridges in the cartridge carrier.

Yellow won't print

First try to replace the yellow toner cartridge. After that, try re-seating the cartridge (take out the cartridge and place it back in carefully making sure it is seated correctly). If this does not resolve the issue, clean the print heads and connections on the cartridge. This can be done by removing the cartridge and swabbing the connections with a Q-tip dipped in rubbing alcohol. Also, while the cartridge is removed, swab the connections to the cartridge that are inside the printer where the cartridge is seated.

I've changed printer cartridges but it is not printing a thing. Not a test print, not print head alignment nothing. I've done the clean the deep clean print head alignment and there is still no ink coming...

Please check the seating of ink cartridge. when you replaced it, it should make a little click sound confirming that the ink cartridge has seated properly. Please repeat the process once more. Also when you remove the ink cartridge check if the thin strip on the ink pad has been removed. If not then remove it before fixing it again.

I replaced some empty ink cartridges and now the printer does not print at all. goes through the motions of printing, but nothing.

Did you get the inks from the printers' authorised distributors?, Did you touch the gold electronic prints on the ink cartridge? Did the ink cartridge site in properly in it seating?

Get the ink from authorised reseller, re-sit the ink cartridges and let the key into the seating properly.

Error

Have you changed the ink cartridges recently? A mis-seated new cartridge was sufficient to stop my epson printer working (different model). A check you might run to verify this would be to try to check the ink level from the printer control panel in windows. If the ink cartridge is not seated correctly you will not get an ink level displayed.
