Washer will not tumble. I loaded washer, despensed detergent, closed detergent and washer doors securely, washer turns on, lights work and water fills into drum but the drum will not turn. After the water is done filling, the machine just sits there. If I click further into the cycle to the rinse cycle it does the same thing. The timer seems to be working correctly. I manually moved the drum to see if it was stuck. It moved freely. Please let me know what may be the problem, or some suggestions to try. Thank you.

Did you install the cartridge correctly? Sometimes (and it does happen frequently), is that when installing a cartridge, often you forget to remove the plastic strip that separates the toner from the inner drum, check for that.

Roper gas dryer wont tumble

The way to visually see if the belt has broken or not is to 1) unplug the dryer. 2) Remove the lint screen on the top of the dryer. 3) take the two phillips head screws out where the lint trap is. 4) with a flat head screwdriver pop the top of the dryer up by sliding the driver inbetween the top and front of the dryer and pry upwards a little. 5) You'll now see the drum, if the belt is not around it its broken, and if it's visible try to lift it. If it taught, its good. IF THE BELT IS BROKEN OR LOOSE CONTINUE TO NEXT STEPS 6) on the left and right upper inner sides of the dryer you will find two screws, one on each side, remove these and the front should be easlily remove. 7) once off you'll be able to easily see the motor, the belts idler pulley, and everything else.
Leave the drum in the machine. Now, directly in front of the motor on the floor of the dryer you will see two slots. This is where the idler pulley will go. You'll notice on the pulley at the bottom of the bracket a piece of metal sticks downward. This will sit in the slot closest to the dryer wall, and the end of the bracket will slide into the other. You'll want to slide the end in first. Now with the pulley in place take the belt and put it around the drum tread side down. To hook the belt around the motor pulley you'll have to pull the idler pulley towards closest dryer wall and place the belt around the motor pulley. Slowly release the idler pulley and thats it. Put it together and your done.

My fridgedaire front loader washing machine has been making weird noises when it spins or washes, making sounds like there is loose metal inside somewhere rubbing and clanking around. As of last night...

When my washer did that, I found that the shocks that hold the tub were bad...

Check out this tip I wrote about the noise and vibration that front loadwashers can make..

Hotpoint aquarius ctd00 tumble dryer...everything working but drum wont turn

it looks like you need to put the belt back on which is inside the machine. to do this open the lid with screws on back take lid off then you should see the belt inside the machine and where is was before on the drum of the machine. slip it back on and put lid back on and it should start turning again. hope this helps.

Tumble will not turn the belt was off but now put it back on still not turning altho motor at bottom is

if the motor is running, the belt is on but the drum is not turning then either the belt is slack and slipping, or the drum is jammed. possibly and item of clothing is stuck between inner and outer drums. remove belt and turn drum pulley, it should turn easily.

You may have a broken inner tub spider. Check for play between the inner drum and the outer tub by moving the inner drum up and down.
If there is excessive play, the spider is broken causing an unbalanced load and therefore no high speed spin can be achieved.

In this case the inner drum would need to be replaced, which means taking the machine almost completely apart. A good tech can do it in about 1.5 hours.

Maytag Washer Noise While Spinning

Most washer models have snap-clips holding the front of the top panel down, with hinge-like clips at the back. Carefully pry up the top panel on the front of the machine using a tool that won't scratch the finish, such as a plastic or wooden wedge. If it does not pop loose fairly easily, then carefully examine the back of the machine to see if this is a rare model that has screws holding down the top panel. (But really, it _should_ just pop loose.) Once the top panel is tilted up to expose the inside, you should be able to see everything you need to see inside the body to evaluate a spinning drum problem.
