I need power cord. It says Walmart on it also but this is the only model # I found. Where can I buy a power cord for it? thank you

good afternoon Thelma.
The answer likely goes one of two ways, depending on whether:
  1. The cord is detachable, with a male 2-prong plug built into the wall of the fryer.
  2. The cord is part of the fryer, with the cord going inside the fryer, probably somewhere around the base.
If the cord is detachable, it's likely a standard cord that you'll likely be able to get almost anywhere that has appliance parts - either a specialty store, or a place like a Sears that tends to stock parts as well as sell appliances. I'd guess it'd be kind of a rectangular head maybe about 1/2" x 7/8" with two round holes to match two pins in the fryer wall. Anything like that should be heavy duty, but you'll want to make sure you get one with heavy enough wire that it can handle the current that the fryer heater will draw during warm-up.

if the cord isn't detachable, but missing, then the answer is similar, except that you'll essentially need to open up the unit and there will likely be a spot near the cord inlet where the hot, neutral, and ground wires are attached to inside wires with wire twist-nuts. In that case, use the gauge on a pair of wire strippers to measure the gauge of the input wire, then replace it with a cord with intact plug that has that gauge, or heavier, of wires. Often, there are knots tied in the individual inside wires. Don't skip making those in the replacement. Those are strain relief to keep cord yanks from yanking the wires out.

Hoping this helps.
Good Luck!

Waring pro electric deep fryer won't turn on. No issues with the outlet, used twice before with no issues. What's wrong with it? No parts missing

Turn power off. take off bottom cover and check power is coming the the Heater coils. If no power check for blown fuse. If you have power at Heater Terminals then you need a new Coil

Deep fryer reset button

Don't know which model you have but I have the DF-280. I had the same issue many people are having (my unit would not power on). The power cord is fine as I've confirmed this with a digital voltmeter. Turns out this particular unit has a safety switch on the right side of the metal/plastic brain unit housing. The switch is underneath the plastic protrusion that is perpendicular (or at a right angle) to the detachable electric plug. You probably won't notice it unless you look for it. My guess is the switch became less sensitive with use and despite being properly mounted to the fryer base, the brain unit did not recognize that it is properly mounted to the fryer base and therefore would not turn on.

The easiest fix for this is to stuff a small piece of paper towel slightly into the slit where the switch is activated and then remount the brain unit onto the fryer base. Another option is to replace the switch or buy a whole new fryer. If your switch actually was the problem, it should now turn on and work properly as mine did. Hope this helps...

Light comes on, but it no longer heats up.

I have a similar model of DeLonghi fryer, and I have read that many customers have problems with their fryers not heating, after owning and using them regularly for some time. Mine gives an error message and stops heating, once in a while. The lights remain on, but it displays an error message on the temperature readout. I've found that detaching the magnetic safety cord and thoroughly cleaning both the cord and the connections on the back of the machine makes a big difference. Your mileage may vary.

Need a detachable cord for fryer

Hello pat..... Ultrex is no longer in business.

find a local appliance parts store to see if they can fit a cord for you. There are many universal designs available that may fit your unit. In order to do this, you will have to bring the deep fryer in to the store. Joe

Thanks for choosing Fixya!

I would suggest that you go to www.theconsumerlink.com and click on appliance parts. Stroll down to T-Fal and search the detachable cord that is possibly the one you need for your fryer.
