Black 80gb ipod Video

I recently went on holiday and purchased an ipod electric charger,so that i could recharge during my week away. It had an adapter for english voltage so no problem.when i returned i was playing my ipod at work through the sound system ,running on its internal battery, after a while the ipod ran down in power so i connected the external charger and continued to play music as normal.Eventually the green icon came on the ipod saying that it was fully charged,so i diconnected the mains but the ipod would not reboot itself to play. when i got home and plugged it into my computer through the usb,it said very low battery, please wait, and so i did but after 6-7 hours it was still the same. If i put in the mains charger it plays as normal, what can i do to get it to charge or play without the mains,
Hope you can help

Try resetting it. Hold down the Menu and middle button at the same time until the screen gets dark.
If that doesnt work, Restore it. Plug it into the computer and click "restore" when it pops up in itunes. Please note that this will erase all data on the device.

My s618f will charge from the usb on my computer, but when I am away from home it won't charge from a mains usb charger. This is bad news on a 2 week holiday.

I use my USB cable that came with my Sony and a Wall charger/USB power adapter for and ipod made by apple.

Apple ipod 80GB not booting up making nose like hard drive is getting stuck.

hi there

best thing that you can do is return that if its still under warranty. if its not, you have to bring that to a service center as you cannot manually fix that with ordinary tools and equipment.

hope this helps

I recently installed a new battery in my iPod. While connected to iTunes, was notified of an update. I installed the update and given the message to connect to an electrical outlet to complete the update....

I'm afraif there is no option put to get yourself a wall or car charger. I was caught out by this myself. it will not finish the update without one of those adaptors. They don't warn you about this. When you do get your ipod charger, it will finish and you can use your ipod normally again

Usb recharging does not work

I have seen this many times. Your battery is most likely depleted to the point that it is incapable of sending a signal to the computer. You will more than likely need to have you battery replaced. You can jump start your iPod with a wall charger, but you lost yours. A simple charger can be bought off of eBay for less than ten dollars. If you get a wall charger and nothing happens, your iPod is dead but it sounds like a battery issue.
