I agree, sounds like a ground problem. It has just enough connection to power the radio but once running there isn't enough current there..
I agree it is most likly the ground wires, however a good check is to use a voltmeter at both sides of the fuse to see if you have voltage there.
The only thing these have in common is the ground wires. You have three points to check. Under the dash you will have some connected to the steering column. There is one behind the kick panel on the drivers side and one behind the kick panel on the passenger side.

It is a blown fuse. Check your manual and you will find there is one fuse that takes care of all of these things.
I had a similar problem with a 2001 Saturn. We checked every fuse and they were all fine. We finally did a 'reset' on the car's computer by disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it a few minutes later. Everything was back to normal after that.

First, Please review this article: Where's The Fuse?
Then, Yes, there is a fuse that powers your gauges. Actually, there are two of them. They are both located in the left wiring harness junction block. (On left side of dash) One is marked "IPC/BFC ACC" and the other is marked "IPC/HVAC BATT". Both are red 10 Amp fuses.
