Adding a memory card doesn't actually increase the storage where you've been storing stuff, it gives you a NEW place to store stuff. You have to save stuff there or move existing stuff.

Some phones you have to go into Settings and Mount the memory card before the phone will recognize it. As the previous answer said, check you phone's manual to make sure you haven't put a card in that is too big for the phone to recognize.

BLU Advance 5.0 Android phone won't let me add apps as there is "insufficient space." File Explorer says phone storage is 99% full but shows few files anywhere in the folders

1) go to Settings, and under Device, click Storage, then click Transfer data to SD Card.
2) go to Settings, and under Device, click Apps, then for every app : click on the app name, then on storage, then on Clear the cache.
3) If you don't want to repeat this cumbersome process manually from time to time, many apps can do it for you. I personnaly use one called AppMgr III, installable from Google Play.

Texts not working on samsung galaxy y , storage data says full , even though it has been emptied,m no texts are coming in, also the option for moving apps to sd card is greyed out

Your phone can't use the mini SD card as internal memory. Your internal memory has to many apps, and to much data. (pictures, notes and messages) You should clear up the internal memory, by deleting apps and data. Most Samsung apps you can't delete. The modern phones already have apps, exceeding 10 Gb. So if you bought a 16 Gb phone only 5 Gb is left for you to use for apps. I'm sorry, but the SD cards should be seen as an external hard disk, not as internal memory.
If you thought I can buy a phone with less memory, because the SD cards are very cheap and will extend the internal memory, you made an error. New phones from Samsung now get more than 10 Gbyte of apps, you even can't remove. So only about 5 Gbyte is free to use for other apps and messages.
Next phone, take one with lots of internal memory, if you like to install other apps.

Internal memory card full

This camera has an internal storage capacity of 16.0 MB. That isn't much. But, it also has a slot for an SD memory card, which is capable of storing far more data than the camera's built-in memory. If you don't have one, go get a good quality, high-capacity SD card and install it in your camera according to the instructions. You should be able to store all kinds of pics and videos. But keep in mind that even the SD card has a limited amount of storage capacity, so you'll need to download the card to your computer now and again and re-initialize the card, or buy another when it gets full.

When i try to use my camera on my phone it says that my memory is full even though its empty.

To resolve this problem:-Turn off the camera and insert a new memory card.
-Transfer or delete pictures from the memory card.
-Change the storage location to use the internal memory.

Memory card is always full even though it is new

Hi, The solution is to format the memory card or initialize the memory card. Note formatting the memory card will delete all the pictures or data stored. Formatting memory card
1. Press the MENU button in any mode.
2. Move the 5-way scroll button to the right and press the confirm button to enter the SETUP menu.
3. Move the 5-way scroll button down and enter the FORMAT menu. Press the confirm button and the "Format?" dialog box appears. Select "Yes" to start formatting. Select "No" to cancel.

I just added a new memory card on my webcam and it keeps saying memory full because its set for internal memory so i switched it to sd/mmc memory and it automatically goes back to internal memory. what do...

Hello

I had the same problem with my webcam and the best sollution i could come up with was to transfer all the files on the internal memory to the memory card instead, and the format the internal card so that you will have space on the internal card again.

The cam automatically assigns the internal as the primary source of storage so even if you switch it, it does not work properly.

I hope this can help you.

Best regards

Micro card

When I bought the phone I wanted to use a bigger Memory card. I was told it will only recognize 2gb. The booklet that comes with phone says the same thing, so would assume that is why it says full. Assuming of course youre trying to use more than 2gb at the moment.
