It is possible that your viscosity is set too cold. You should check the temperature of your product to see if it is too cold. Is the Ice Cream hard? It sounds like maybe the beater overload is tripping. Some of the overloads can reset on their own. If you have and know how to use an ammeter, it would be beneficial to check the amp draw of the beater motor to determine if you are exceeding the overload or not. Ice cream is generally good at a temp between 16 and 20 degrees F. Temps vary with product and product brands. I hope this information helps, it is hard to determine exact problem without being there.

SOURCE: need repair manual for IL Gelataio 1600 ice cream

Had same thing. Try turning timer a bit. Sounds silly, but may fix. I took off cover (4 screws, two on each side, cover lifts straight up, then tilt back) tapped capacitor, pulled leads, reattached leads, removed motor (elco mg, attached with three screws) etc. Turned blades with motor out, started motor unattached to "transmission", put everything back together and voila! I think the timer was the issue.

SOURCE: need manual for rival soft serve ice cream maker

Rival doesn't have the model 8150 listed, but here's the model 8151 manual. Maybe it will be close enough to help.

I just replaced the two beater drive motors on my Taylor c713 ice Cream machine now when I power up communication failure comes up

Every time I have seen that, it is just the USB cable on the mother board in the back of the machine.
1. Shut off and disconnect the machine from power
2. Remove the rear panel
3. Remove the electrical panel cover
4. Find the USB cable on the bottom of the board all the way to your right.

How do I get the beater out of my soft serve ice cream machine model #152 12

On the front of the machine on both sides the dispensing handle there are large thumb screws (I believe 2 on your unit). Empty the product from the machine then turn the thumb screws to the left to take them off. The screws hold the face plate on the front of your machine. You will then be able to remove the face plate from the front of the unit. The beater will be in the freezing cylinder behind the face plate. You will be able to just pull it out.

turn the power off and hit the reset buttons about the size of a quarter hole on the back or front panels. turn back on and it should clear if not then you will need to have the beater motor or contactor replaced.

Chocolate ice cream has turned a funny color and that side is running loudly

A grey color often indicates the beater bar is grinding on the inside of the barrel. What you may be seeing is metal. Be sure your beater bar is not bent. Visually inspect the inside of the barrel for marks. Wear is not normal. If you see wear and the beater bar is not bent, be sure all plastic bearings and components are installed. Also, it is normal to have some drip and lube in the drip pans, excessive amounts usually indicate problems though. Hope this helps you.

Gearboxes definitely go bad. The first sign is usually noise, I would describe it as a rumbling. The best way to determine if it's the gear box is:
1. empty and disconnect machine from power.
2. remove the freezer door and beater assembly
2. remove the rear panel - 4 screws
3. Remove the belts on the noisy side
4. Spin the big pulley and listen for the noise, you may want to remove the belts on the quiet side to compare the two.
I have a video that was shot to help change the hex coupler, but you would follow all of the same steps to replace the gear box.
