Changing the blades

You have to loosen & remove the bolt which holds the blade in place. Once that's done, slide the blade guard around so that you can lift the blade off of the collet and pull it out of the opening on the bottom of the saw. Put the new blade on in the reverse order and tighten the bolt back into place.

Northern Tool 10" compound miter saw. How do I change the blade?

remove the power cord from the socket in the wall first
if there is a small hole in the blade , place a phillips screw driver in that hole and turn until the driver is locked against the depth guard
use the correct size spanner /socket and undo the spindle nut holding the blade on
if there is no hole ,then place the screw driver in the teeth of the blade to lock it

the motor will spin so that the teeth cut against the direction of cut ( up into the guard or up through the depth guard ( blades normally have a arrow for rotation direction)
tighten the spindle nut and if no hole in the blade use a hammer and hit the spanner with a hard rap

I have a Ryobi WS730 wet saw. I suppose the manual was discarded by my wife with the box. I need to change the blade and do not find a stopping mechanism to hold the blade while I use a wrench on the...

The saw should have come with a wheel wrench and a hex key. The hex key will act as your stopping mechanism if you hold it.

With the saw unplugged, loosen the wheel guard lock and rotate the wheel guard to expose the arbor nut. Put the wrench on the arbor nut and a hex key in the spindle. Keep the wheel from turning with the hex key and loosen the arbor nut with the wrench (turn counter-clockwise). Then remove the hex key, wheel wrench, arbor nut, and outer washer to access the blade. Remove the old blade then wipe a drop of oil on the inner washer. Place the new blade on the spindle. Replace the outer washer and then the arbor nut. Again use the wheel wrench and the hex key to tighten the arbor nut while keeping the wheel from turning. Then replace the wheel guard and tighten the wheel guard lock.

The manual is available from Ryobi: http://www.ryobitools.com/catalog/power_tools/tile_saws/WS730 . The direct link to the manual is http://www.ryobitools.com/product_manual/file_url/11/WS730_414_eng.pdf .

I hope this helps.

(If you can't find the hex key, get another that will just fit the opening in the spindle.)

Need to replace the blade on the saw. mastercraft 10" mitre saw. i've managed to loosen it but can't seem to get the blade out of the machine to put the new one in. what am i not doing?

Lifting the safety guard maybe? The blade will not pass through the opening with the guard down (it's one of the purposes of the guard).

Can't find my owners manual. How do I change the blade. Bolt hits on a guard that covers the arbor. On a DW713 combination saw.

Removing the Blade
1. Unplug the saw.
2. Raise the arm to the upper position and raise the lower guard as far as possible.
3. Loosen, but do not remove guard bracket screw until the bracket can be raised far
enough to access the blade screw. Lower guard will remain raised due to the position
of the guard bracket screw.
4. Depress the spindle lock button (Fig. 3) while carefully rotating the saw blade by hand
until the lock engages
5. Keeping the button depressed, use the other hand and
the wrench provided to loosen the blade screw. (Turn
clockwise, left-hand threads.)
6. Remove the blade screw, outer blade clamp, and
blade. The inner blade clamp may be left on the
spindle.
Installing a Blade
1. Unplug the saw.
2. With the arm raised, the lower guard held open and the
guard bracket, place the blade on the spindle against
the inner blade clamp with the teeth at the bottom of
the blade pointing toward the back of the saw.
3. Assemble the outer blade clamp onto the spindle.
4. Install the blade screw and, engaging the spindle lock,
tighten the screw firmly with wrench provided. (Turn
counterclockwise, left-hand threads.)
5. Return the guard bracket to its original position and
firmly tighten the guard bracket screw to hold bracket
in place.
WARNING:
• The guard bracket must be returned
to its original position and the
screw tightened before activating
the saw.
• Failure to do so may allow the guard
to contact the spinning saw blade
resulting in damage to the saw and
severe personal injury

Either the blade or the guard is out of alignment. You will have to check and find out which one is the culprit.
