Shaft does not rotate motor workink

My Bamix stopped working--no shaft movement and loud motor noise (think disuse caused motor lubricant to thicken). Propped it upside down and put drops of quality machine oil at seam where narrow blade shaft enters larger shaft (in center of curved guard). Probably not necessary, but added a few drops where large shaft enters handle. Oil slowly seeps in. Attached a blade to manually turn for oil distribution. Did this periodically over several hrs. Turned on low speed and it gradually returned to full speed capacity.

Motor turns but blade doesn't

Is the shaft turning...? if so then refit the blade . If the shaft is not
turning then you need to get the motor out and check to see if the
shaft and motor are connecting or not, can you do this job yourself
if not, take it to someone who can..T.C.

I have ryobi rlt 30 strimmer and the shaft seems to be turning but the head has not got enough power in the shaft to turn the head and it all so seems to be vibrating where the shaft can be joined together...

For starters, check the condition of the LOWER flex- shaft.Remove the LOWER from the upper shaft, and while turning the string head, see if the top end of the flex shaft turns also. I think your unit has a clutch which makes diagnosing the flex shaft in the UPPER shaft housing (the one attatched to motor) a lot more difficult. If the upper flex-shaft is clutched, it WILL NOT turn when turning over the engine (unless the clutch is bad or has malfunctioned; which is rare). To inspect the UPPER flex-shaft, you will have to do a dissassembly (partial) at the motor housing cover in the front to pull the upper shaft out to inspect it. To get it all the way out to look at it, you will have to remove the throttle cable from the arm on the carb and disconnect the STOP switch wires going to the coil (located UNDER the front motor housing cover). Post back with what you find. Wish I was there to help.

Motor makes horrible noise

It could be the bearings in the motor are bad. When you turn the saw on does the motor pulley turn. If not the motor shaft could be turning inside the pulley. Make sure the pulley is not loose on the motor shaft. If the motor just hums without spinning it has an internal within the motor itself

I cleaned my Flair air purifier, The motor turns on but not the fan even after lubricating the fan shaft and giving the fan blades a little push. Any suggestions on how to get this going?

The Flair is no longer manufactured nor serviced by EcoQuest, and the company is now Vollara. If what you're hearing is the fan motor (there is no other motor associated with this machine), it might mean that either it's totally seized up, or that the oil just has not penetrated deeply enough.
1) Turn the machine over and remove the large screw in the bottom. The chassis will then slide out (I assume you've already done this in order to reach the fan shaft.)
2) Firmly pull on the fan blades near the center in order to pull them free of the shaft.
3) Turn the chassis on its back, so the fan shaft points up. Drip a small amount of lightweight oil (sewing machine, hair clipper, 3-in-1) on the shaft and turn it manually to work the oil down the shaft. Continue doing this if you feel the shaft loosening up.
4) Set the chassis upright, tilt it forward, and drip a small amount of oil on the rear opening to the fan shaft. Continue manually turning the shaft and tilting the machine to work the oil in.
5) Replace the fan blades and turn on the machine, depressing the safety switch manually, to see if the fan will begin to turn.
If it won't turn, it might mean that the fan motor is entirely seized up. You may be able to find a local small appliance repair person who could replace that motor.
Your other option is to call Vollara customer service at 800-989-2299 and ask them to explain your options. Use #16618 if you need a dealer referral number.

Emerson EB228 pump motor fails to start.

There is no fuse. If the pump is several years old, it is likely frozen. You might try removing the back of the pump cover and inserting a screwdriver into the shaft to turn it by hand. Disconnect electric first. If the shaft turns, it's an electrical problem. If the shaft does not or is hard to turn, rust has frozen the shaft in place and the pump will not run. Buy a new motor.

My Hayward just hums when I turn it on and after a few seconds the breaker pops.

You will need to disassemble the pump and check the impeller. remove any debris and try turning the impeller by hand. If it does not move or is dragging, you will need to overhaul the pump. Possibly a shaft seal leak has damaged the motor bearing(s). Replace the shaft seal and motor bearings. If the motor is badly deteriorated, you might need to replace the motor. Note... the impeller turns counterclockwise to loosen. you may need special tools to grip and hold the motor shaft and the impeller to prevent damage to the impeller. If the impeller is seized on the shaft from rust, you may have to break it to get it off. reassemble with teflon lubricant on the shaft threads when reinstalling the impeller. This will prevent seizure later.
