Hi mrfeld, The TC-26x50 has only an analog tuner, if you want to recieve the new broadcast OTA signals you will need a Set Top Box. Let me know if you need further explanation and please rate this solution. LOne99star

Hi there, the only close part you could get is the actual cabinet. the actual screen will have to be shipped by the manufacture itself. these screens are filled with a liquid that is dangerous and has to be installed in a OSHA approved shop.

In this tv the brightness of the screen is actually generated separately, by a set of CCFL / neon tubes. These tubes are powered by an special board, the inverter / ballast one. If the brightness oscillated it means that the high tension generated by the ballast for the neon tubes oscillates - an indication that either the board is faulty or something has gone wrong with the power source of the tv - it cannot longer deliver the necessary power to the ballast board.
To find out what is wrong the voltages in the power source and ballast board must be checked, the faulty board identified and replaced. That requires a good knowledge of electronics, you will probably have to call a repairman.
Or you could just replace the boards and hope it fixes it (like they do in most shops anyway)

In the menu system there is a reset (I believe it's all reset, or reset all...something like that) which should fix the issue. If not, leave the TV unplugged for 4 hours and plug it back in then turn it on.
