If you don't know how to remove the keyboard then I would suggest you run a blow dryer along the top keyboard but not too hot. Aim the dryer straight down and not on an angle because this might push water along into other areas. Do this every 15 minutes or so then leave it alone over night. Put the battery in and try booting it up. You can go on youtube to see videos of how to remove a keyboard on your model which is a better way to check for water.

Probably you burned it out when you tried to swith it on
Put it in some rice, let it dry for some days and then try to turn it on. If won't turn on, pray and take it for repair.

How do i remove the cd dvd drive

Turn off the Toshiba laptop, remove the AC adapter and any other peripheral devices, and close the lid.

Turn the laptop over.

Touch an unpainted metal surface to discharge any static electricity. Release the battery lock-usually located near the back of the laptop-and remove the battery from its bay.

Remove the screw holding the DVD drive in place.

Where the screw is located depends on your Toshiba's model, but in newer laptops-particularly the Satellite-the screw is located next to the Toshiba sticker.

Unlike the other screws, which are embedded into the laptop, the DVD screw is even with the rest of the laptop's surface.

Gently pull the DVD drive from its bay to remove it from the laptop

hope this helps

Drop off a glass of water on my toshiba laptop keyboard

You must have removed the battery immediately so that the water will not seep through and short the internal circuits. If this had happened thenthe motherboard would be faulty . What could be done is to remove the keyboard and the motherboard and fully dry the board , keep aside and heat slightly using a hair dryer.Assemble after several attempts to warm off moisture and reset. if the PC does not boot, then it is best to seek consensus and estimation. Do not replace any part on a suspicion.

Water was poured on the keyboard. Battery was removed immediately and wiped dry as was the keyboard. Keyboard was placed under the fan upside down for approximately 2hrs after which battery was replaced...

First thing is to not try powering the laptop on after the water fell on it. Next, you should remove the battery off the laptop immediately. When this is done, you should fully disassemble the laptop & thoroughly inspect its inside. Look for any traces of water on the circuit boards & on other components. On circuit boards, water damage appears in the form of whitish traces. These needs to be wiped off. This can be done using a tooth brush moistened with few drops of hand sanitizer liquid.
Check all internal connectors & make sure that no water seeped into them. Dry them if needed.
When you are done, re-assemble back the laptop.
If the water fell on the keyboard & you found out that the keyboard is no longer working, then you will have to replace the keyboard.

How do I replace the keyboard?

next to the F1 key and the windows key (2nd upper key and second to last key) are two screws, usually under some covering. unscrew and lift top edge of the keyboard towards the trackpad to lay face down. Undo the wire ribbon by lifting the grey or brown tabs and remove ribbon and keyboard. Then install the new keyboard by inserting the ribbon on the place. Lock down with the tabs and put the plastic prongs (close to the space bar) into the laptop body first, and then close keyboard onto the final position. screw back in and thats all. nboulikas@gmail.com for any additional questions.
