Question about Continental CE23271 Deep Fryer

Open Question

How do I steam foods with the Continental multicooker model ce23271?

Awhile ago, I bought a Continental electric multicooker that is supposed to deep fry and also steam foods etc. The only instructions in the booklet are for frying yet the dial on the product has a setting for steaming. I had wanted to make some tamales by steaming them. Do you have instructions for using the steamer?

Found some on-line reviews here:

From what I have read about crock pots the lids are not supposed to seal; they are intentionally made to be loose fitting and should settle in to the groove of the pot edge.

Some reference information on slow cookers.

Suggest you give it a try; you might be surprised with the results.

Your gasket is no good and needs to be repaired. The water is supposed to be pressurized as high heat steam and when pressure is excessive the valve does its thing to lower to acceptable levels.

Something major happened either a blown engine or something major electric. The reason you heard a pop in speakers is because they picked up the problem. Does anything work electric? My guess is something inside engine broke and jammed up engine.

I would return it to the store you got it from and get a new one, ensuring that you get one that hasn't been opened. Factories nowadays do a pretty decent job of getting everything in the box that belongs there (not that they are perfect, but pretty good). Missing a chord likely means that it is a unit that someone else bought and returned. There could be other things missing that should have been in the box, and they may have damaged it in ways you can't see.
