Check to be sure the drain hose isn't clogged or kinked. If that checks out, check to see if the drain pump or drain pump filter are clogged. Sometimes objects that are put into the washing machine, for example combs, money, hair pins, etc. end up in the filter. Finally, if the drain line is clear and the pump seems to be clear and functioning properly, you may need to replace the drain pump assembly.

What is the origin of the name Wray?

Surname: Wray

"This interesting name is of Old Norse origin, dating from the 8th and 9th Centuries, when much of northern and north-western England was invaded and subsequently settled by Scandinavians. Wray and its variant forms, found mainly as Wra and Wroe, is a locational surname, deriving from any of the places in Lancashire and Cumberland named with the Old Norse "vra", nook, corner, recess, used in placenames to denote a remote valley or isolated place. The places in Lancashire named with this element are Wray, High Wray, Wrayton, and Wrea, all mostly recorded in the 13th Century as "Wra", while in Cumberland there is the place called Wreay, and a place near Carlisle formerly named "peterelwra" (1286), from the river Petteril. Some bearers of the modern surname may derive their name from a topographical use, denoting residence in such a remote and isolated place. One Ralph in le Wra is recorded in Yorkshire in 1260. William Wray and Lucye Montagewe were married in London on April 6th 1580. The first recorded spelling of the family name is shown to be that of Tomas de Wra, which was dated 1196, The Yorkshire Pipe Rolls, during the reign of King Richard 1, "Richard the Lionheart", 1189 - 1199, Surnames became necessary when governments introduced personal taxation. In England this was known as Poll Tax. Throughout the centuries, surnames in every country have continued to "develop" often leading to astonishing variants of the original spelling."

This Charlie from Az. I have a Kenmore Elite washer MOD#-110.24946301. It will fill only with water but it won't drain or spinn...in the past we would bang on the top of the washer and it would work now...

Hi Charlie...the first thing I go to if a washer does not spin is the
belt...but since you would get it to work by banging on it suggests
a faulty lid switch which may be beyond banging. I am not familiar
with your machine but most switches are under a cover just under
the top of washer....fastened by a couple of screws...unplug the
washer and examine the switch for unsecured wires...you may
have to replace the switch. There are about a dozen other possible
causes but you would need a manual to explore them all.

Regards,
Dennis

We've had two of thee units for a couple weeks now. Then suddenly they started leaking a LOT of water. How do we fix this problem asap?!

If you haven't been draining the water collection tanks regularly, that could be the problem. With that said, the units should shut down automatically, when the tanks are full. If they are not doing that, the water tank full sensors are faulty. The drain plug is on the rear of the unit, just above floor level. To drain it, place a low sided pan or bowl capable of holding 1 quart water, under the drain plug. Unscrew the plug and allow it to drain in the pan. Or disconnect the unit and roll it to a floor drain or outdoors and drain it/them.

In addition, check the exhaust hose(s) for obstruction r drooping to much. Either will trap moisture that should be exhausting out the window.

Hope this helped you to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Thanks for choosing FixYa.

Washer will not hold water.

It sounds as though your drain outlet hose is too low, and the water is syphoning out as it is filling.
Lift the hose higher, and see if that solves the problem, if it does not. then it sounds as though the pump is on all the time, and you will probably have to call an engineer.
Plz rate my solution.
Thanks.

Check filter behind kick plate on bottom front of machine. Drain water out first by lowering drain hose into bowl or bucket.

If this is the case, you cannot unlock it yourself. You will need to find someone that Unlocks them... And im not real sure where to find that either in Pakistan?
