Booting in safe mode simply launches the operating system with minimal services enabled, usually no network availability, and a limited ability of usage, safe mode is used when diagnosing possible threats or for emergncy data access. In the event that the computer has stopped you from gaining access to it. A computer should never forcefully start in safe mode, it is an option usually selected on a black and white screen, start normally or start in safe mode, or start in safe mode with network. Try tapping F8 from a cold start and see if you can start windows in safe-mode. If it is a Windows machine. Please advise if your machine does not use Windows or what happens, as to whether the system starts in safe-mode.

1. Remove all floppy disks, CDs, and DVDs from your computer, and then restart your computer.
   Click the Start button , click the arrow next to the Shut Down button , and then click Restart.

2. Do one of the following:
   

   • If your computer has a single operating system installed, press and hold the F8 key as your computer restarts. You need to press F8 before the Windows logo appears. If the Windows logo appears, you'll need to try again by waiting until the Windows logon prompt appears, and then shutting down and restarting your computer.
     

   • If your computer has more than one operating system, use the arrow keys to highlight the operating system you want to start in safe mode, and then press F8.
     

3. On the Advanced Boot Options screen, use the arrow keys to highlight the safe mode option you want, and then press Enter. For more information about options, see Advanced startup options (including safe mode).
   

4. Log on to your computer with a user account that has administrator rights.
   

When your computer is in safe mode, you'll see the words Safe Mode in the corners of your monitor. To exit safe mode, restart your computer and let Windows start normally.

Once in Safe Mode With Networking

Click on the two links below and go to the download now tab. Save Rkill and Malwarebytes to the desktop.

First run Rkill then Malwarebytes.

If you have started your computer in safe mode and your computer started in safe mode without any problems and you did a normal shutdown, your computer should restart in normal mode - you should NOT get the advanced starup menu which gives you the option to start in safe mode.

If you do get that menu, choose Normal Mode. If your computer starts OK, you should not get any more prompts to go into safe mode. If you do, further troubleshooting will be required to find out why your PC will not start normally.

Hi, When you're done troubleshooting problems with your HTC Hero in Safe Mode,
you will need to go through steps to boot it regularly and remove it from Safe Mode.

To do so, turn off the phone. Then while its off, hold the Menu and Power until the phone boots. The Hero should then no longer be in Safe Mode

Start the phone and uninstall apps in safe mode

If your phone keeps restarting, or it starts up but does not display the Home screen, a recently installed application may be causing the issue.

When this happens, try starting up your phone in safe mode. In this mode, your phone does not run any third-party applications. Safe mode allows you to start up your phone successfully so you can uninstall any applications that you have recently installed or which may be stopping your phone from starting up correctly.

To start up your phone in safe mode, press the END CALL/POWER button and hold the MENU button until your phone restarts and displays the Home Screen. You will see "Safe mode" displayed at the bottom-left side of your phone screen. When your phone is in safe mode, follow the same steps in Removing installed apps to uninstall the third-party applications.

After you finish uninstalling the applications, restart your phone and check if the issue is resolved.

to boot a system in safe mode restrt your computer as the computer starts press F8 you will see a set of command like safe node safemode command etc click safe mode you will see set of files running wait till the safe mode starts the you will be able to see the mouse icon then it will ask do you want the computer to start in safe mode click yes now you are in the safe mode section in safe mode section the system starts in defult setting you wont be able function somefunctions safe mode is for correctiong your computer or to remove unwanted software or hardware

Start it in the regular safe mode, log in as administrator, from here you can clear any user passwords.
