Canon PIXMA MP830 - DRPD Problem I've been using this printer/fax for several years with DRPD. A power outage knocked out all settings. The DRPD is not on any of the menu settings; a Canon tech couldn't help me. Does anyone know a workaround that can solve this issue. (The Canon tech wants me to take it for repair or buy a new one.)
I had the same exact problem and it took me a bit to get working. For some reason, your printer's destination has been reset. In my case, it reset to Japan. The DRPD option is only available for US and Canada. You need to enter the service menu to reset the printer's destination back to US. Here are the steps that I followed.
1) With the machine power turned off, while pressing the Stop/Reset button, press and hold the On/Off button. (DO NOT release the buttons.) The Copy button lights in green to indicate that a function is selectable.
2) While holding the On/Off button, release the Stop/Reset button. (DO NOT release the On/Off button.)
3) While holding the On/Off button, press the Stop/Reset button 2 times, and then release both the On/Off and Stop/Reset buttons. (Each time the Stop/Reset button is pressed, the Alarm LED and Copy button light alternately, Alarm in orange and Copy in green.)
4) When the Copy button lights in green (stops blinking), press the Stop/Reset button 5 times.
5) Press the On/Off button.
6) Press the Stop/Reset button 3 times to select US.
7) Press the On/Off button.
8) Press and hold the On/Off button for a few seconds to turn off the printer.
9) Press and hold the On/Off button for a few seconds to turn the printer back on.
10) When the printer has booted up, press Fax then Menu.
11) Select the "Receive mode settings" menu and you should now see "DRPD" as the 3rd option.
Let me know if you have any problems.
