Have you used it before? If so have you checked to see if the overload switches are tripped?

Eu6500is generator trips to red unload when ac is on

Air conditioner compressors require a greater amount of electricity (measured in both volts and amps, but the amps are what is causing the overload). You will need a larger generator to run your AC. You might be able to run a smaller AC unit, but always check the Amps required and compare that to the Amps the circuit breaker on the generator is rated for.

I have a Honda eu2000i generator to run a Husky TAW-1524p air compressor. Initial start/run is fine but subsequent compressor restarts as demand for air is required, put the generator into overload....

If your mechanical enough to figure out how to lower the air pressure switch on the compressor it would help with start up loads. For instances if your pressure switch is set for 75 psi. Lower this to 60 psi. or as low as you can and still operate equipment. Otherwise depending what horsepower and voltage {guessing 110 vac) the motor is, I would try an Hard start capacitor for refrigerators or air conditioners. They are rated by horsepower and have a built in relay that kicks it off automatically after starting . You can find these at any appliance or a/c & heating supply house.

Generator will not stay running

The toggle switch automatically resets all faults when it is turned to the off position. I would turn the toggle switch off, turn off the breaker on the generator and then turn off all the loads in the house except a few lights. Turn the generator breaker back on, then turn the toggle switch back to automatic. If it starts and stays running, you were overloading the generator. Turn on other loads slowly and keep track of what is on so you don't overload it again. If it still does not stay on, you may have a problem with the panel. Let me know what happens.

Wolf 5000kva generator

Locate where the choke lever is for your generator (under the petrol tank), you ought to notice a star headed shaped screw connected to the governor shaft (if you bend and look closely further beyond the choke lever; still under the petrol tank) which is linked to the carburettor housing/assembly. You need to increase/turn clockwise (using a star screwdriver) on this screw.

Your generator engine sound will change/high a bit because the engine speed will increase.

Reconnect your 1800w chop saw (load) and see if your generator can "effortlessly" accommodate it without shutting down otherwise, increae the turns on this adjustment screw attached to the governor shaft till your generator operates/stabilizes with the load (1800w) connected

Generator was running just fine. it's a bsv5500-w overloaded the unit by mistake. tested with meter and found 86 volts. shut unit down and now only puts out 5 volts on each leg

are you sure the breaker didnt trip when overloaded,as this is what the breaker is for and would explain the ghost voltage of only 5 volts at the outlet

You may be UNDERLOADING the generator and it may be unstable with such a light load... see if it might behave running a heavier load... put a 100 watt light on it as a test,

No 240V

check for a circuit breaker that is tripped, as well as a switch that enables 240volt (at the cost of 120 volt current being cut in half.). The switch puts the alternator windings in parallel (120volt full power) or series (240 volt @ half 120volt current).

Generator won't start

Some of the generator has a control or tripping device like over speed, over voltage, overload or overcurrent or other trip device, try to find & reset it.
