Question about Dryers
Capacitors are of a construction of two plates separated by an insulating material
the charge is the differentiating charges of the plates + charge trying to neutralize the - charge of the other plate
so which ever wire is not important when connecting a 2 wire capacitor as either wire will put + charges on one plate and the other wire will put - charges on the other plate
when the switch is activated, the sudden discharge as the plates cancel each other out produces a surge of power that start
s the motor spinning
In some instances, capacitors are used to absorb electrical energy that causes static in other electrical items like radios , tv etc
again the wire connections is immaterial as it acts like I stated by placing + and - charges on different plates and discharging when there is a cycle change eliminating the lack of power flow when the cycle changes in the AC current
