That sounds like a problem with the print driver. Are you using the correct driver for your operating system? Try reinstalling your print driver, or if there is a newer one available, update the driver to the newest version. You can find MFC-240C drivers here:

I have an hp off.jet 6310/the print-que thinks it's prinying, but it ptints 7 pages of garbage.

There's an old saying with computers-Garbage in,Garbage out.If you feel your computer is printing only garbage,do a print preview. Then you can see what the printer is going to print. This also gives you the opportunity to pick which pages you want printed.
http://www.udel.edu/topics/printlessnew/PPreview.html
Please go to this page for a walk thru of print preview.Hopefully there will be no more garbage, right?

TM88IIIR on XP machine prints garbage

Turn printer off hold down on feed button and turn it on. This will produce a test page. Compare all your settings to the port settings that it is plugged into. It sounds like a buffer problem.

Try re-installing or updating the drivers, this will sometimes cause odd garbage to be printed.

Unistall the printer using the Control Panel

Go to Epsom www.epson.co.uk/

Obtain the drivers for the printer and copy them to a location on your hard drive re-install the printer using the Add Printer in the Printers and Faxes area if XP finds the LX allow it to install.

Once it is installed do a Print Test page , if the print is correct you are on a roll if not go to Device Manager and ask it to update the driver
It will ask you if you have a better driver say yes and point it to the entry you made on your hard drive

Printing gibberish then feeding several lines, printing gibberish

If text did not line up as planned, your TOF ( top of forms adjustment ) isn't correct. Just correct it using the button on the panel. If after printing 1 page or so and then it begins to go out of place, most probably you hv set the page lenght incorrectly. To correct, enter the MENU on the panel and set the correct page length.
Lastly if printing garbage, most probably you have selected the wrong emulation on the MENU. Correct by entering MENU mode ( press ' SHIFT+MENU ' button together ) and select the correct emulation.

Hope this helps.

How to interrupt a printing job and cancel it

Hi, I hope I can help.

Your printer has some of the pages stored in memory, and your computer also has some of the pages stored in the memory (spooler) on your computer.

If you turn off the printer, the computer thinks the printer went off-line and it waits for it to come back on, and then just keep churning off pages. OR.... Something will get messed up and 100's of garbage pages will start churning out.

The deal is to clean out the memory on the printer, AND clean out the spooler on the computer.

Simplest way (hopefully) is to turn off both units. That may solve it. However, sometimes the spooler on the computer will keep trying to print. Down in the lower right hand corner of your screen should be a picture of a printer. Double click that and you'll see the print job. You should be able to select the print job, hit delete, and clear it from the spooler.

Hope this works.

Prints lines of garbage

This sounds like a driver issue, the wrong driver may be in use or may be corrupted. Go into Control Panel > Printers and delete the printer, then reinstall it using the drivers that came with the printer. Let me know how it works out!
