Check the remote control for its infra-red emission. Check it with fresh batteries. Check by pressing each button on it at a time; and see whether all of it generates infrared signal while pressing. If it is found OK, check and replace the infrared sensor inside the TV. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. It has details about how to check a remote control; by one among the post. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ If the remote control is found OK; check and replace the infra-red sensor inside the TV. Contact any service technician.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

If you go to the SANYO website you can download the manual for the TV your talking about, there should be a way to reset the tv to it's factory defaults (don't know if the remote is required for that). This TV is very problematic because the only way to access the A/V inputs is via the remote (you can't get to that function from the MENU button on the TV), a replacement remote can be purchased through the SANYO website for $5.99 (plus shipping, which is probably more than the remote) Most universal remotes won't work because they don't have the game/input button.

SOURCE: Accessing Menu Sharp TV
I have a Sharp TV model 27F-S40 and also do not have the remote. I need to access the menu to change color, sound, etc.
Can I access the menu thru the channel or volume buttons on the face of the tv?

I would suggest you try to find a universal remote that has an "input" or "source" button and program that one to your tv. By pressing the "source" or "input" button, it will change the input to the tv. I hope this helps! -Der Strom
