Make sure you DO NOT cut the wires! Mark down which color wire goes into which slot on the switch before you remove it. Now all you have to do is get the correct switch and push the wires into the correct slots.

Insert a paperclip(or something similar) into the wire connection, then press spring down and remove the wire.

My Ryobi 10532 chainsaw chain will not turn. The chain lock is off, it is a new chain. I replaced the old chain as it caught in a stump and stopped turning

pull the chain clutch back towards the handle
it is not a chain lock but a clutch release that stops the chain from turning
pulling it back engages the clutch to drive it

Instructions to replace pull chain for Leviton Plastic Lampholder model 8827CW2

I believe it is cheaper just to replace it then try to get the parts!

You may be able to take it apart and salvage it by using what is leftr of the old pull chain but I am not sure.

Does the engine of a 2001 oldsmobile aurora 4.0 have to be pulled to replace the timing chain

No you do not need to replace pull the engine. Replacing this chain takes many special tools, I would suggest if you can afford it to avoid trying to do this at home, it is a very difficult job even for a professioanl. You will need a factory service manual to get all set up right.

The lamp has on-off pull-chain switch.
You can buy replacement pull-chain switch at hardware store.
Buy the pull-chain switch that has two wires.
Buy two yellow or orange wire nuts.

Switch off breaker.
Take apart light.
Remove old pull-chain. Strip back the wires if needed, twist wires together.
Connect new pull-chain switch using wire nuts.

I have a new Poulan Electric Chain Saw 1630.(green in color) Question.......should you be able to pull the chain easily around by hand after the chain is properly tensioned?

There should be some drag while pulling. Proper tension is usually gauged by pulling down on the chain from the bottom of the bar. There should be approx. 1/8 of slack. If the chain is really hard to rotate regardless of tension, then the bar will need to be replaced also.

Have you just replaced the chain?
If so there is a possibility the chain and drive sprocket don't match causing the engaging spurs to ride on the sprocket teeth

How do u know if your chain is worn out or if it

Unhook the master link and lay the chain in the concrete. Next, hold one end to the concrete and sort of push the chain towards the stationary end. The object is to push the chain together as opposed to stretching it apart. Mark the concrete at the location of the shortened end. Now again hold the stationary end firm and this time stretch the chain to its' fullest length. Mark the concrete again at the end of the stretched chain. If the distance between the marks is over one inch the chain should be replaced.
.
Look at the teeth of both sprockets. Are the teeth rounded on the end or are the teeth forming a pointed looking end? If rounded, then the sprocket is good. If pointed, then the sprocket is bad.
Bad sprockets can ruin a good chain. The exception to the one inch rule is a chain that is rusted and no longer limber. Replace a rusted chain. Remember, always install the master link clip with the blunt end facing the direction of chain travel.
.
Please rate this solution, Thanks.
