What are the steps to removing gas tank from Husqvarna 48 riding lawn mower?

I'm getting poor gas flow from tank. It seems there's a blockage. I've blown air into gas line toward tank and cleared it but it continues to block line. Also, I notice leaking beneath mower near tank. I'd like to do complete maintenance on fuel system, including clean & inspect tank.

Before you do that check the breather hole in the gas tank cap - that's the most common problem. Leaking is probably a faulty pipe, especially if you've disconnected them. Don't rely on push fit only - use hose clips.

The easiest way is to not remove the tank. Buy a can of chem tool the liquid, not spray.Drain gas out of tank, pour can in tank, let sit for 15minutes,then drain, should clean it out good.

SOURCE: Husqvarna GTH2250B riding mower leaking gas tank

Hi there
The tank on that machine is a Husqvarna tank . The part # is 532 15 13-46 and you can get it @ your local Husqvarna dealer. To find a dealer near you just check the link below
http://www.husqvarna.com/us/homeowner/support/dealer-locator/ . About any recall on the tank you probably have to contact Husqvarna direct . Use "contact" on the Husqvarna site .
Hope this help

How do i drain wrong gas from my tank.

There is a gas line hose which is attached on one end to the bottom of the gas tank, and which then will run to a gas flow shut-off valve (if your mower has one) or to the gas filter or fuel pump. Take the hose loose at the nearest point to the tank, remove the gas cap, and simply drain the gas into a suitable pan or other receptacle large enough to hold the volume of gas that's in there. Try to make sure the mower is level front to back and side to side when you do this. Hook everything back up and you should be good to go.

If it is a rear tank unit, drain the fuel and disconnect the fuel lines. The transmission will need to be removed for clearance. Then locate the 3 or 4 mounting blots. The tank will then drop out from the bottom.

Did you check the top of the gas cap for tape over it top of gas cap should have a small hole all the way through it.take a small piece of wire see if you can push it through . you might have other issues. If it does not.take cap off and drill tiny hole through it .or send cap back where you bought mower explain you want a new cap.

You may need a 'heli' coil or a larger Spark Plug, it seems that the vehicle at operating temperatures is building up too much pressure and pushing out your current sized plug! Same thing happened to a me! And if its too much pressure, there is a 'filter' that becomes restricted, easy check!
Hopes this helps!

My Husqvarna will only stay running with the choke in and even then it will only run for a short time?

Gas flow through the carburetor is clogged. Easy fix is the following----- remove all gas from tank (siphon or drain). Put that gas aside or dispose of it. Use a little bit of fresh gas and a little bit of carburetor cleaner in the tank. Run that through (by running the motor with the choke.). Do it several time if needed. When it seems to be running better, then try just a little gas only to be sure you have cleared it. When you fill-er-up, be sure to add a gas additive like Sea Foam or similar.
