when a television turns off by itself and flashes as you say, it indicates that there is a problem inside the tv. If you keep trying to turn it on you may do more damage. It could be something as simple as a faulty fuse inside. If you have no expierience with electrics I suggest you get it checked out by a professional. I had a similar problem with another tele model and it was the fuse in the back of the tele that needed changing. I did try to this on my own but unfortunatley didn't have the right fuse so i took it to a repair shop and he done it really quickly.

SOURCE: Set will not power on.. Blinks red LED 8 times

It's a power supply related problem.
The flashing 8 times is a trouble code. A Service Manual for your TV model will have the info on the codes. It could be a bad capacitor or a transformer on the power supply board. If you have some electronic experience, you can find a Service Manual for your TV over the internet. Cost about under $20.

SOURCE: red light blinking

You have a bad main board most likely. You can try unpluging it for 5 minutes.

SOURCE: tv won't turn on, only blinks a red led infront

could have bad caps in the power supply. They will swell up when bad, heat damage. These caps should be replaced with high temp caps.Capacitors go bad in monitors because cabinets are made thincausing less ventilation, more heat.bad caps will have round instead of flat tops

Green orange then red flashing 3 times light

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

More specific, please ! Finally, did you replaced all bad capacitors or only replaced the power supply unit ? Because there are many other capacitors on other places that can be damaged.
Sure, the problem seems to be from one of the capacitors, but you have to know how to find the damaged one (and with the proper instrument will be more easy). Howewer, to buy a good instrument is more expensive than to service your TV set (my opinion). Plus guaranty.

Sony bravia kdl55hx729 3d led tv turns on 3 seconds shows picture than four red flashes

Hello,
the error light sequence that you are seeing is indicating a "backlight error". Most likely you have a bad inverter board -the board that powers up the back-lights behind the display panel. They might be available via ebay if you are a DIYer, or you need to call for sony service.
Good Luck!

I have a 2 year old LG LCD TV (model 42LG60) and I am having problems with the screen. I turn it on and everything is fine for a few minutes and then the screen goes to red or green lines that are fuzzy....

Not really a solution, sorry, but I've got the very same problem. I haven't noticed the time before tv faults, but nontheless, it greenscreens or like in your case, redscreens as well. I've been told to open the back, which I did to check the status of the capicitors, which I've done. But, the capacitors "seem" fine. No bulging or popped tops. So, I'm at a stand still...not sure what to do at this point. If someone gives you solution, I sure would appreciate your forwarding it on to me. Thanks. Robert

Blinking red light.Checked all cables. I replaced Hard drive...still problem exists. Wondering if power supply could be problem

When one light from the four lights ring itself changes from green to red, it means that a general hardware failure has occurred or is imminent. Blinking of one red light with an error message like E66, E67, E68, E71, E74 or E77 means a repairable problem while the one red light blinking without error message means some critical or irrepairable problem. The problem can be avoided by restarting the Xbox 360 console but if you have not received any error message with one blinking red light then the problem is irrepairable. The console will behave the same way and you should understand that one or more of the hardware components in your console have stopped functioning due to hardware failure. If you receive an error message with one red light blinking then the problem is reparable and the system will definitely start working. It means that there is some hardware problem with the Xbox 360 console connection occurring due to the misplacing of cables in the ports. Turn off your Xbox 360 and disconnect all cables, now reconnect the cables and switch on the Xbox hope this helps.

It turn off it self

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Red light blinking 6 Times means no Horizontal (H STOP), no raster, and so the set goes to the blinking self-diagnosis function immediately. You’ll need to open the back off the TV and check C515 & 516 and the jungle IC, IC206. If you want to do it yourself all this is only recommended if you have electrical expertise and know how to solder/re-solder components if not then you should always contact a qualified repair tech. for the same.

Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Rylee

Battery light blinking red even when charging

Looks like you need a new battery. Same thing happened with a DELL XPS, once the new battery was in place, all was fine.

Green picture

you might wanna look into the "flicker issue" with your set...If you've had it for a while a could be that it's just worsened over time and developed into a voltage leak. I have the same set and it went undetected for a couple of years due to poor quality cable signal..once I went to a clear signal (ie. directv) the issue was very noticeable, but by that time it had progressed. Eventually one of your guns will fail and the set will stop working all together (mine did just under 4yrs from purchase) and unless you have Sears warranty that WILL try to stick it to you. TRUST ME!!! Good luck.
