left the coffee pot off for 5 hours and the clean light is still on. I have now covered it with black electrical tape. I love the pot but what else can I do.

You must perform a descaling with white distilled vinegar and water, and repeat until all sediment is removed.

SOURCE: "clean" light will not go out

In my experience with this coffeemaker, the Special Cleaning Cycle light doesn't illuminate until the machine is very clogged up. The risk of ignoring this indicator and waiting too long to clean it is that by the time it does get cleaned the calcium deposits will end up clogging the check valve, thereby shutting down at once. Regular cleaning will prevent significant amounts of calcification and thereby result in hotter, better tasting coffee and less risk that the loosened mineral deposits will end up clogging vital parts of the machine if and when you do clean it.
If you notice, the inside of the lid to the water tank states that the unit should be cleaned every 30 days. This is true whether you see the cleaning indicator light illuminated or not. To clean the coffeemaker, you must add 20 oz of undiluted white vinegar per the owner's manual, then press the "clean" button. If you do not recall the last time the coffeemaker was cleaned and wish to start off on the conservative side, you may wish to use a diluted solution of white vinegar (about 1/3 to 2/3 water).
The coffeemaker will brew part of the vinegar, then pause 30 minutes, then restart itself. Use clear water to rinse at least two times after the process completes. This will take about an hour in all. If you are in a hurry, you can just run vinegar through a regular "Brew Now" cycle; however, this will be somewhat less effective.
When adding fresh, cool water to rinse the vinegar out, make sure to allow a few minutes to cool down between rinses because the element is extremely hot. You may wish to use a vessel other than the carafe to fill the water tank while rinsing because it will take less time. Otherwise, the carafe may crack or shatter if you take it off the hot plate and fill it with cool water straight away.
Finally, I suggest you visit and put the model number in their web search box. The Classic Edition Coffeemaker came in three varieties: MRX33 (black), MRX35 (brown) and MRX36 (red). The instructions are otherwise identical in operation and features. There will be a link at the bottom of the description to the user manual. If the model number no longer appears on their site, use your favorite search engine and type "model + manual + PDF" or terms to that effect.

SOURCE: I made a normal pot

I think there is a real problem with the whole cleaning system with the Mr. Coffee Pot. I have one and after making only a few pots of coffee, the light starts blinking. I have cleaned it over and over and still get the same alert. My son had the same problem you have with his, it wouldn't finish the cleaning cycle. He'd had it awhile and ended up tossing it because it was beyond the warranty and store told him too bad. I've had other Mr Coffee makers and like them, but they didn't have the irritating "clean" alert OR the obnoxious BEEPING to let you know it's done brewing. If I knew this was going to be an issue - I would never have bought it. Why do they have to screw around with a good thing - more buttons and thing cycles to cause problems.

Scholtes FE46 and the door is locked. Also no clock/timer lights. Temp/function and oven work but is locked even though completely cold.

Here are a couple of things to try:
  1. Unplug the unit or shut off the circuit breaker for 5 minutes. Plug the unit back in or turn on the circuit breaker. Set the clock and gently try moving the door lock lever (is so equipped) or opening the door.
  2. Set the self-clean cycle again and only allow it to work for 15 minutes. Cancel the self-clean cycle and allow the oven to cool. Gently try moving the door lock lever (is so equipped) or opening the door.

Bin full light

The sensor build limestone residue during operation and needs to be cleaned off. The bin sensors are typically located on either side of the freeze platens and can be removed to clean. Turn machine off and unplug. Reach in past the water trough and freeze platen and you will see the transmiter and receiver plugged into the side walls. Gentlely work sensor loose and work sensor wiring out hole until you can get to sensors. Clean the two sensor with a clean cloth and with vinegar until sensers are clean. Reinstall, and plug back in and start unit. Bin sensor light should be out and should start.

My HP Pavilion dv6830US Notebook overheated and now won't turn back on. What can I do?

I would start by cleaning the fan, vents and heatsink. Use a can of compressed air. You may have to open the Laptop to clean thoroughly with the air and a light brush, use ESD protection as well. . Improve air flow from the bottom of the laptop and the side vents, a Laptop Cooler is a option. Hopefully you haven't done damage to vital components due to overheating. Unplug, remove battery, leave battery out, plug in, try to reboot.

The red alert light indicates that the filter needs to be cleaned. I have cleaned it but the light remains on. I have turned the unit of and on again but it doesn't change the light. The unit is...

Tunr the unit OFF & unplug it for 15 minutes. Then plug it back in and turn it on. The electronics should have reset and reverted back to the original factory settings & the red light should no longer illuminate, as long as the filter was reinstalled properly.

Hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

Clean light will not off after cleaning cycle performed 4 times

Unplug the machine for 20 minutes or longer - don't skimp on the amount of time, or it won't work. After 20 minutes, plug the coffeemaker back in, and you will see that the self-clean light is now off.

You could possibly have a bad control switch. But first check all wiring from the receptacle, plug (wires all connected), wiring to the back of the oven. I am hoping that their is not a bad circuit board.
