SOURCE: The dryer smells like it is burning. It is only 2

it could be a number of problems, but i would suggest it is the heater element for your dryer, or an outside chance of the drum motor, it may also be as simple as one of those items i mention being covered in fluff build up from drying,
if you can remove the back cover or the base cover you should have access to the parts mentioned, give them a good hoovering out and see how that goes.

what sort of machine is it ?

My heater was just installed and it smells like burned stuff. What should I do to make the smell wear out, do I leave it on with windows open?

Check the installation paperwork and see if it says anything about it. Heaters have been coated with oil in the heat exchanger to prevent rusting. Sometimes a heater will be produced in the year 2010 for example, but doesnt sell until 1 or 2 and maybe 3 years later after that. So it might sit in the warehouse for a long time. The oil will help the metal from corrision. The installer is suppose to tell you that when you first turn on the unit, it will smell like burning (oil). Open the doors and some windows until the smell goes away. (15 to 30 minutes) This is normal. Now if the smell wont go away maybe something fell inside and is burning!!! RuNNNN!!! no may have to open it up to check... rare case

Motor may just need new brushes, Cooling vents may be clogged with dust. or bearings in the motor or front roller maybe bad. Causing excessive drag
blow it all out with compressed air or shopvac
look for external brush caps (2) oppsite from each other take them out to be sure they slide freely, sometimes one gets hug up and doesn't make good contact

Burning smell

The sulphur smell is the result of the emmisions control system. I have an 06 Expedition with the exact same engine and emmisions system as yours. When the engine is cold, you don't smell that sulphur smell, but as soon as the engine gets to operating temperature, the exhaust gasses smell sulphury. Nothing wrong with your ride - they all do that. The dealership sometimes spray the underbody with some type of rubber to protect the vehicle against rust. This rubber stuff sometimes get sprayd on the exhaust as well and then you will smell "burning tires" after driving the vehicle. This will go away after a few thousend miles though.

Dryer not working all the time

99% of the time , a buzzing motor means the motor is almost burned up. Especially when you can smell it. A burnt motor calls for more current due to the laws of electricity and this overheats the motor windings and this is what you smell. If you are lucky, one other thing can cause a motor to buzz. Something is binding somewhere and the motor is not strong enough to turn the shaft. You would smell this also, but if you can find what is binding it and remove it, then you should be ok if you have not used it too much with it smelling. Look for a sock or wash rag tangled inside the dryer between the drum and the inner walls. This extra "drag" would cause the symptoms you are seeing, but something tells me that you have a burned up motor.
