Hi On one of my 2001 X5 car keys would not always work but sometimes did, so I knew that the central locking was ok it was key related, I decided before shelling out to the BMW garage I would dismantle the key and have a look. (you will need super glue, tape for this and a small knife), it
THe garages have a bit of kit to do it! They aren't cheap either. you might find a garage that is willing to do it for you maybe for a few $'s but from my BMW experiance you can't do it yourself unless you have this bit of kit. A lot of garages have them these day not just BMW but not all of them can reset a BMW, good luck!
Hi I had a similar fault on my x5 the bmw garage reprogrammed the sat-nav and it has worked perfect ever since, I think it cost about £90 but I cannot remember was a while ago. I certainly wouldnt pay £1450 sounds like there taking the micky!
YES, THE LOWER PRESSURE AC PORT IS AT THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE CAR. IF YOU OPEN THE HOOD YOU WILL SEE IT , BY THE WINDSHELD WIPPER TANK. ALSO THE LINE AS A BLUE DOT ON IT. AND A BLACK PLASTIC CAP. THERE IS ALSO ONE BY THE RADIATOR BUT THAT IS THE HIGH ONE. YOU WILL NEED THE LOWER ,PORT TO FILL UP THE AC UNIT. ALSO STAY IN THE BLUE , NOT WHITE OR RED. READ INSTRUCTIONS ON CAN !!! I USED THE ARCTIC FREEZE ULTRA SYNTHETIC 134 A REFRIGERANT. PEPBOY ALSO WALMART HAS IT.
I BOUGHT THE 134 CAN TO FILL UP THE AC UNIT , AT FIRST IT DIDNT FIT BUT THEN IT WORKED. I TRUNED ON THE CAR AND THE AIR ON HIGH.
NOW AM GETTING VERY COLD AIR.I ALSO CALLED THE DEALER AND THEY WANT $ 250 , TO DO SOMETHING THAT YOU CAN DO FOR UNDER $ 15 DOLLERS. THE DEALER DID TELL ME THAT THEY ALSO CHECK FOR LEAKS AND THEY ALSO EMPTY THE AC UNIT BEFOR THEY REFILL IT .
I HOPE THIS INFORMATION WILL HELP , WHEN USING THE 134 A CAN ! YES IT DOSE WORK AND IT WILL FIT .
I had the same problem with the suspension on an o2 X5 Sport,it was the stabiliser pump in the rear,Range rover is the same pump and is cheaper than the BMW part, they also do an exchange unit.
