Hello Stan;
My name is Peter. I am a retired field service refrigeration technician.

With power off - either unplugged or at the circuit breaker.

If your control is within your freezer you have no wiring harness to disconnect.
If your control is on the upper left of your freezer door - pop off the upper door hinge cover and disconnect the plastic connector. You will need a small flat head screw driver wedged into the connector.

Why do you want to remove the door?

1.) These doors are very flexible. At times they will become deformed in the upper left hand corner causing a gap. You can bend the door back in shape!

Send me your model number located on the upper inside wall on a label on your liner.

Tell me what your problem is.

If you have a bad door gasket you must be careful. If you want to replace, usually the door liner is dried out and will crack where the gasket screws are and the gasket will not secure.

How can i stop the door ajar alarm when door closed and 0 f

Hey friend, thank you for your post!

In order to stop the door ajar alarm from beeping when the door is closed you would need to reset the alarm. If you have done that and it continues to beep it could be an issue within the switch or panel of your Frigidaire freezer. I would recommend having a professional come out to properly diagnose your appliance. -Matt

Yes. The heater is there to prevent condensation. If you disconnect it you may get moisture on the glass. If you cut the wires be sure to tape them up.

Replaced gasket twice; still ices up around door.

If you replaced your door gasket and your absolutely sure that its sealing properly, then it might not be coming from your door. Ice builds up when warm air enters the fridge and the condensation freezes inside the freezer. The biggest suspect for warm air entering into the fridge is a faulty door gasket. However there can be another cause. If you remove the back panel of your freezer you should be exposed with the wires that come into the freezer and power the different components inside. The entrance point were the wires come in is insulated with a type of clay that prevents moisture from entering. However if this clay becomes loose it is possible for moisture to enter and start icing up. If you can remove the panel yourself safely without hurting yourself or damaging the fridge i recommand trying this first. If you don't feel comfortable doing this i recommand having a service technician taking a look at it. Hope this helps.

First check for bunrt wires that can be grounded, then you can disconnect the compressor and plug the freezer and if doesn't blow the breaker , the compressor is bad ,if still blows them ,put the compressor back and try the fan , then try the other fan(inside one) or also could be the light switch, or the defrost heaters.

How do you remove the ice maker in side by side kenmore refrigerator, the kind with dispenser in the door. It won't turn to release the ice, and has a solid block of ice in it now.

Most ice makers hangs on the wall with three screws. two at the top and one at the bottom. Just loosen these screws and the ice maker will lift off the bracket and you can then reach the wiring harness to unplug it.

Fridge Freezer

The hinges at the top and bottom have screws. These may be hidden under a plastic cover which can be pried off. The water and wiring, will have disconnects at the bottom of door. Take the top ones off and lift the door up.
