SOURCE: my deep fryer pilot somtimes goes out after burners ignite

Hi there.
Try to clean the thermopile (a cylindrical metal standing behind the pilot) by wiping it with a scrubbing pad to remove carbon or any form of dirt. The thermopile generates a small amount of electricity to energize pilot valve and main valve of the gas valve for pilot and burner operation. The electricity generated by the thermopile depends on the heat it absorbs from the pilot flame.

On my ifs40 imperial fryer the pilot knob just spins around and wont send gas up to pilot orifice when i push it in

There is a little tab on the knob that is broken. Replace the knob and the fryer will work. One center screw holds the knob on the valve.

Hi there!
Try to check first the incoming and running gas pressure, it must comply with the rating on the unit's nameplate.

I light the pilot everything is fine then when i go to turn thermostat on pilot light goes small and burners dont light and when i turn back to pilot the gas ignites and goes out

Sometimes certain models turn off if you touch the thermostat before it lites...
We've seen this happen many times, so you would need to light the fryer first, wait until it's stable before turning your thermostat to desired temperature.

Light pilot on Royal deep fryer. Pilot will not stay lit. Second fryer has larger pilot have no trouble keeping it lit. How can I adjust the pilot so that it will stay lit?

there is a small adjustment screw on the gas valve, turn it clockwise to increase pilot,if that does not work the vent cap on the gas regulator on the back of the unit could be stopped up,remove that cap ,clean out or replace unit can operate without it just fine.If you increase the pilot and it still wont stay lit replace the thermocouple

Imperial fryer IFS-40

I had a very simular problem. My fryer would do exactly as you described, but sometimes the pilot light would stay on until the burners tried to re-ignite and then it would go out.
I finally had to call the gas company. They took the pilot light apart and cleaned it. The fryer works perfect now.
Hope this helps!

Hi, Probably the thermocouple. It will be right at the pilot light and hooks to the gas valve. The pilot heats it up to tell the gas valve that the pilot is working. If this is an electronic ignition, It will be the flame sensor still close to the pilot and will need cleaned or replaced. Hope this helps.
