Buildup of ice on bottom of freezer compartment. Ice then melts and leaks out the bottom

sounds like you have a stopped up drain line where water drains out when freezer is in defrost mode. My Amana freezer does it quiet often.

Ice buildup in bottom of freezer--puddle of water on floor

this sounds like your freezer is operating properly, except that the drainage of the water when going through the defrosting mode is not draining properly, pooling on the bottom of the freezer and then freezing. Check the drainage hose for the defrost in the lower pan. I would remove everything, place in ice chest, let the unit completely thaw out and then inspect. I hope this is beneficial.

Frost and Ice Buildup

If everything is cooling fine and the frost is not on the back wall but just the floor at the bottom then your defrost drain is stopped up. Remove the bottom basket and clean up the ice on the floor of the freezer. Look on the back wall and you will see some more ice up a littler higher at the back. This is where the drain is. Clean all the ice out from this area too using hot water or a hair dryer. Once you find the drain hole make sure you get all this ice out of it as well. You can take a screw driver once you have melted the ice and gently push it through the drain hole. Once the hole is cleared you should be able to pour hot water freely through the hole. (It is best to turn the refrigerator off while you do this)

Ice maker leaking

Are you sure it's the ice maker that's leaking? We have this model & ours accumulates a HUGE iceberg in the bottom of the freezer, but the water seems to be coming out of the back, at the bottom of the back panel, where the vents are.

Build up of ice in bottom of freezer compartment

During the defrost cycle heaters in the wall of the freezer are turned on to melt the frost build up. This melted frost "water" is supposed to run out a drain in the bottom of the freezer and collect in a pan under the refrigerator/freezer where it will eventually evaporate. If this drain is blocked it will cause a lot of water to collect in the bottom of the freezer and that water will eventually turn back into ice. I recommend defrosting the freezer manually, removing all the ice/water buildup in the bottom, and trying to unplug the drain line to the pan underneath. Also check the seal on the freezer door. If it's not sealing well it could be letting a lot of moisture enter the freezer which would lead to more frost buildup and more water during the defrost cycle.

Side by side leaks out front door on freezer side

try checking the tube that water drains out , it could be plugged with crumbs or old partials of food and causing the problem, This has happened with my fridge at one time , affecting the defrost cycle of the freezer and dripping water out of the door, The tube was located under the crisper in the back of the inside of my fridge, Hope this solves your problem

Freezer stops freezing food - frig stays cool

Possibly sounds like the heating element on your defroster is burnt out or the drain hole for the defroster is blocked, not allowing the defrosted water to drip underneath the fridge to evaporate, thus causing a buildup of ice. That buildup may be blocking that vent that goes bwtn the freezer and fridge. The heating element is simply checked and/or replaced by removing back panel of freezer. It's about the only thing behind that panel and likes like a row of fins. Google images for a better understanding of what you are looking at. If its a block of ice, you know there is a problem. The element is replaced by simply unplugging it and replacing with a new one. You should also see a small hole at the bottom of the freezer. Try pouring a little water in it and listen to see it its running into the plastic pan that's underneath the fridge (usually visible if you take the grill off). Some models have a hose that kinks up attached to this small hole. Had an Amana freezer that did this on several occasions and cause the whole bottom of the freezer to become a block of ice because the water had no where to go.

Water Pooling and freezing on floor of freezer

most likely you have a frozen drain in the freezer section so that whne your refrig defrosts the water runs out into the freezer compartment instead of the drain pan underneath. the fix is to flush the drain with warm water to clear the obstruction. the drain can be reached either by removing the cover in the freezer area or by back flushing the line from beneath the refrig.
